ARK: Survival Evolved Launching On Xbox One Before Christmas

Studio Wildcard today announced a holiday surprise for fans of the prehistoric ARK: Survival Evolved, giving Xbox One players the perfect early Christmas gift as December 16th marks the release on Microsoft’s latest console. Since its record-breaking release for PC on Steam ARK: Survival Evolved has attracted more than 2.5 million players and the team at Studio Wildcard are hoping to carry that success to the console market through the ID@Xbox self-publishing program.

ARK: Survival Evolved’s Xbox One launch will see nearly 3x the amount of content that was available with the original launch of the PC version on Steam. The game will be available to buy for $34.99 on Xbox Game Preview for Xbox One and will come with a variety of exclusive content including bionic “Tek” T-Rex, Safari Hat, and Survivor’s Trophy and free access to Xbox-specific ARK official servers

“ARK is running beautifully on Xbox One, we’re really proud to deliver the first open-world online survival experience on console, a genre that is typically found only in PC games. Steam’s Early Access has given us a strong method to quickly iterate on player feedback, creating a strong relationship with our fans that constantly makes the game more fun. With Microsoft implementing a similar program, we’re able to form a direct connection between console players and our team, the likes of which has never before been possible.” [/quote]
