Chaos Saga Shut Down Due To Copyright Infringement Of Final Fantasy XI?

The folks over at Kotaku picked up an interesting scoop today as free-to-play action MMORPG, Chaos Saga, launched in Japan and within 24 hours the games service was suddenly stopped with very little information given as to reasons why. A major player in streaming and online services in Japan, DMM.Com, are behind the game but have yet to provide any information relating to today’s discoveries outside of a “Notice of Service Ending” notice on the official website.

The story becomes really interesting when members of the Final Fantasy XI and Chaos Saga communities posted comparison shots of characters, environments and other graphical elements of the game. It doesn’t take a tinfoil hat to figure out there are some huge similarities here. Bah, similarities? It’s identical.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, it gets real serious here. Prepare yourselves.

Chocobo

Yup, it’s a Chocobo. Clear as day.

It’s unlikely we’ll get official confirmation that DMM.Com closed their game due to the fact they ripped off assets so we’ll let you be the judge.
