The final showdown for the MechWarrior Online World Championship is just hours away as developers Piranha Games announce the upcoming event at the Mech Con 2016 in Vancouver, with over $143,000 worth of prizes up for grabs. The inaugural MechWarrior Online World Championship Finals will take place this weekend beginning December 3rd as it hosts the top three teams from around the globe as the compete for a share of the monstrous prize pool.
More than 1,200 pilots joined the tournament in the Regional Qualifying stages held earlier this year. The three remaining teams consist of 8 pilots each and have racked up nearly 70 matches and 693 kills in previous rounds, and a staggering 257,577 total damage points.
The annual Mech Con event is a special one-day event dedicated to the communities of BattleTech and MechWarrior. If you’re a little too late to get tickets you can watch the events unfold via official live stream on Twitch.
