Microsoft to release ?Xbox 360 Lite? earlier than next-gen console

In late 2013, Microsoft will release a cheaper ?Xbox Lite? before its true next-generation console actually launches, according to a user called ?MSnerd? on the site called Reddit. Shortly after the release of the ?Lite? console, there will be a ?true successor to the 360? and also a camera update to the Kinect in the year of 2015.

An infamous ?Redditor? on Reddit has decided to reveal whatever the readers have decided to ask to the best of their ability. One of the things that ?MSnerd? has revealed to us is that there will be a new ?Xbox Lite? device coming out in late 2013. This device will be able to do arcade-style games and all the current and future media applications with Kinect. The device will have an ARM-based platform which is price competitive to the Apply TV if you already own a Kinect.

?At some point after that, we’ll see a Xbox Next, a true successor to the 360. Details about it are very hazy, except that, like the 360, it will do games for core-audiences & the same media apps as the other device, also with Kinect.? Said MSnerd.

After the release of the ?Xbox Next?, it was said that there would be an update to the Kinect as well in the year of 2015. It is to upgrade the depth and quality of the camera itself to make it more improved than the first one with the growing technology on its way.

The ?Xbox Lite? was code named ?Xbox Loop? at the later part of the thread. These are just rumors as of right now. Although Microsoft has given some feedback as a result of this newly found rumor. The comment that one of the spokespersons gave was characterized as a ?no-comment? to IGN. You can read below.

“Xbox 360 has found new ways to extend its lifecycle like introducing the world to controller- free experiences with Kinect and re-inventing the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform and how to continue to defy the lifecycle convention. Beyond that we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”
