Despite a huge reveal for Heavensward just this past weekend Square Enix are not resting on their laurels as the developers of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn today announced the release of Update 2.4, Dreams of Ice.

The announcement comes via an extensive list of patch notes released on the official website, providing details on a vast array of new content including new story quests, dungeons, recipes and a brand new primal battle. A huge list of new story missions, side quests and Chronicles of a New Era have been introduced, with the majority focusing on providing new content for those enjoying end-game content.

Hardcore Final Fantasy fans will also be excited to hear the return of two combat options from throughout the franchise with the release of the Rogue class and Ninja job. As with Final Fantasy XI’s Ninja, the complex but versatile Ninjitsu option returns – providing unique and powerful combinations to its wielder.

The Ninjutsu action can perform one of several specific actions based on the combination of mudras made immediately beforehand. These individual actions can only be executed by using Ninjutsu, and cannot be assigned to the hotbar, nor activated from the Actions & Traits interface.
