Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4 Beta Announced

As seen on Todays Daily XP Video!

Square Enix today revealed the official dates for the upcoming next-generation beta test for the successful Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Despite the fact the original 1.0 release was a complete and utter flop, the Final Fantasy community has shown there’s still huge demand for the Square Enix MMO. The game has broken records and even the developers are thinking outside the box following yesterdays announcement offering PlayStation 3 players a free upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version upon release.

The PlayStation 4 beta of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will officially begin on February 22, 2014. It’s still quite a ways off but that gives players plenty of time to work through the grind and prepare a few classes for end-game on the PlayStation 4; hopefully it will be powerful enough to avoid 30 second loading screens.

Then we have the potential problems surrounding additional players flooding the servers. Once February hits, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn would have been live for several months and depending on the drop-off in players following the free 30 days, we could potentially see server merges by that point. Only to see Square Enix open new ones for the PlayStation 4, should it prove that popular. It’s all conjecture at the moment but the potential for another troublesome launch is there. What do you think?
