Grand Theft Auto V’s success is no secret. Since its launch in September 2013 Rockstar Games’ flagship franchise has broken all sorts of records including Bestselling video game in 24 hours’, ‘Highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours’ and ‘fastest entertainment property to gross $1bn’, but there’s still plenty more on the table.
It was announced today that Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 6 million copies in the UK. The fastest selling entertainment product of all time has claimed another record as the box sales of £240 million means GTA V has contributed more to the UK economy than any other single game in recorded history.
