SteelSeries Introduces the Siberia Elite Headset

SteelSeries makes some pretty damn good gear, I would know, I’ve been rocking the Siberia’s for well over a year and just recently picked up the APEX keyboard (reviews incoming i swear).  Now they are pulling out all the stops with their Siberia Elite Headset that has been in the making for over three years.  The Siberia Elite is making its debut at Gamescom as we speak and will be at PAX Prime next week, so hopefully I get a chance to test them out for myself.

The SteelSeries Siberia Elite features next-generation drivers that deliver new layers of sound and power that we haven’t yet seen from a Steel Series Headset before, 7.1 Virtual Surround Dolby Pro Logic llx and touch audio controls on the side of the earcup.  Also a cool new feature that we can find on the new headset is The Sound Share port, which enables another player to listen in, and a flat, rubber cord that will remain tangle free.

In addition to the new headset, SteelSeries is introducing their new Engine 3, which is their enhanced software suite that will bring SIberia Elite users new ways to personalize their listening experience.  With the new engine you will be able to set specific audio profiles with equalizer presets for different gaming or music genres, microphone settings that allow noise-cancelling, mic compression and feedback, and illumination settings that allow you to choose from 16.8 million colors.

The headset will retail for $199.99 and is available for pre-order in September.  More details can be found at their Siberia Elite page on the website.
