HyperX Cloud Pro Gaming Headset Review

The HyperX Cloud Pro Gaming Headset is Kingston’s brand new entry in the world of gaming accessories. They’re designed to optimize your gaming audio experience and maximize comfort for long gaming sessions. Featuring 53mm drivers, memory foam ear pads and an aluminum frame, Kingston delivers on the promise of offering a superior gaming product for a reasonable price.

The video review (above) touches on all of the accessories included in the box and the features of the HyperX Cloud. Make sure to check that out for a full run down, but for those of you checking us out on the fly, let’s touch on the pros and cons of the new headset:

[heading]Pros[/heading]
Sleek Design | Aesthetically, the muted blacks and vibrant red create a look that’s cool and modern. The slim design also looks great while wearing because it doesn’t add multiple inches to your head radius like some sets tend to do.

Sturdy Build | This thing feels solid. The aluminum frame makes it feel as sturdy as it is lightweight, which offers some serious peace of mind when packing them for travel.
Audio Quality | Bottom line, these things just sound good. Boasting 53mm drivers, your lows, meds, highs and bass will let you hear every detail crystal clear
Comfort | The head strap is designed in a way that distributes the weight of the headset evenly, avoiding the development of pressure points over prolonged use. Plus the option to swap to memory foam ear cups ensures that you’ll be gaming happy.
Detachable Mic | I happen to really like this feature because I use my headset for a wide variety of things. Being able to remove the mic gives it a versatility that makes it just as viable for music, movies or editing as it is for gaming on PC or PS4!
[heading]Cons[/heading]
Quiet Audio | Just a minor gripe, but something to acknowledge none-the-less. Audio coming through the HyperX Cloud is quieter than other headsets I’ve used in the past. It’s not likely that you’ll ever run into a scenario where you wont be able to hear the content you’re consuming, but namely with editing, I found myself wishing it would go just a little bit higher.

Overall, we love HyperX Cloud Pro Gaming Headset. The quality of build and audio is unparalleled for the price you pay. Extreme attention to aesthetics and comfort really stand out, making it just as appealing to the eye as it is comfortable on the head.

The product easily warrants our recommendation and we would strongly urge you to give them serious consideration if in the market for a new headset — gaming is just better on the Cloud. The HyperX Cloud Pro Gaming Headset releases on April 30th for $99.99. For additional information or to preorder a set of your own, check out their page on Newegg.com.
