The Elder Scrolls Online Console Versions Has Not Been Shelved

The Elder Scrolls Online Game Director Matt Firor has taken to the official website with the latest Road Ahead article centering around upcoming content and the eventual release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. The article begins with a look back over the last several months and the games launch before discussing subsequent updates and what’s planned for the future.

Update 6, one of the biggest and most anticipated updates since the games launch, has been confirmed as a January window release for the Public Test Server. Update 6 will introduce both the Justice and Champions systems, both of which boast massive levels of new content and PvP possibilities.

The team are also hoping to introduce both of these features with the release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, which although is still in the works, still has not been given an official release date.
”As I’ve mentioned, we have been (and will continue to be) steadily working on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of ESO. They are playable and fun right now, but there’s still some work to do before we can set an official launch date. First and foremost, we want to make sure that two of our most important systems still in development—the Justice and Champion Systems—are included in the console release. Those two systems will introduce a huge amount of content to the game, and we know everyone is looking forward to the new types of gameplay they provide. “
