Thousands hoping to jump into Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege ahead of Thanksgiving Weekend were left disappointed today as developers Ubisoft announced an unexpected delay to the Open Beta event due to matchmaking and connection issues.
The previous Closed Beta event was awash with problems but an extension to the Closed Beta window alongside several technical improvements and adjustments made for a successful event, however it appears those issues were not entirely resolved as once again the matchmaking and disconnection problems with highlighted as a beta events biggest problems.
A new post on the official forums from Community Manager Ubi_Jax informed players of the delay with an update expected to arrive later today at around 6PM EST.
We’re currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms. As such we’re postponing the Open Beta until a later time and keeping the game under Closed Beta status. We apologize for the delay and can assure you this is our top priority. We will keep everyone updated regularly as we continue to deploy improvements.
