Frontier Developments today announced that the second season of content for Elite: Dangerous will be arriving on Xbox One in Q2 of 2016 with the release of Elite Dangerous: Horizons. The expansion for the award-winning space exploration and combat game sees game-changing features introduced to the mix including the ability to land on and explore planets, vast improvements to the looting mechanics and the addition of the highly anticipated crafting system.
Elite Dangerous: Horizons includes all content from the original Elite: Dangerous and future updates throughout season 2. Once released the Xbox One and PC versions will both receive gameplay updates simultaneously. The following features are currently scheduled to release in season 2:

- Multicrew, allowing teams of players to assume roles aboard the same ship.
- Commander Creation, giving a unique appearance to players’ in-game avatars.
- Ship-Launched Fighters, allowing larger spacecraft to carry their own short-range fighter craft for attack and defense.
