The recent expansion Mists of Pandaria has just been released into Beta testing this week and no release date has been set. Despite this, the extension of WoW?s life will be continued even further with a fifth expansion and sixth expansion. The expansion has already been approved by the Blizzard Headquarters and it is currently in development as was confirmed by the company itself.
During an interview with CVG to talk about the upcoming WoW development, COO Paul Sams didn?t just confirm a fifth expansion on the game, but said that the WoW team already knows how the future of the game will proceed with “multiple expansions ahead.”
Sams was asked if there was potential for more expansions subsequently after Pandaria, and his reply was, ?Absolutely, because I know what the next one is. So, that being said, I think there’s a lot of opportunity.?
“I got the pitch from Chris Metzen of what they plan for 6.0 and I’m pretty geeked up about it. They already know what they’re going to be doing for multiple expansions ahead.”
In regards to the fifth expansion, he included, “They have an idea – a general framework. They’re these lore creators. They’re the ones who drive what the world looks like today and what it’ll be like tomorrow and beyond.? Sams addressed the well-being of WoW. He said that the future of the game looks strong and that this new expansion will ?breathe huge life? into the game.
Mists of Pandaria will be WoW’s fourth expansion. It follows The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King (2008), and Cataclysm (2010).
