GamesCampus, publishers of popular titles such as Heroes in the Sky and RF Online, have just announced the immediate release of a new video for their browser-based MMO, Ecol Tactics Online.
Ecol Tactics Online is a turn-based strategy game that takes inspiration from a variety of popular turn-based franchises and introduces a depth of story and character customization usually only associated with MMORPG games.
“Ecol Tactics Online gives players the chance to dive into the classical tactics role-playing games that just aren’t available on the PC,” said Elliott Coward, Project Lead for Ecol Tactics Online. “A beautiful isometric world with pixel art characters, players will be amazed by how rich and immersive a browser-based MMO can really be!”
The new trailer gives players a taste of the quest system, the world map, a new town and for the first time; a look into the highly innovative mercenary classes. If you’re a regular MMO follower you’re probably not a stranger to the whole “New browser MMO released” type article; but Ecol Tactics Online does appear to be bringing some innovation to an otherwise stale genre. However, don’t take my word for it; check out the trailer below:
It may only be 60 seconds long but I already have a Final Fantasy Tactics type vibe going on. The game offers similar mechanics to the hugely popular Square Enix game but with a superior number of playable classes.
For more information on Ecol Tactics Online players can visit the official website or join in on the discussion on the official Facebook Page. There hasn’t been any official confirmation yet but GamesCampus have been known to offer beta access on their Facebook account so it’s worth following if Ecol Tactics Online appeals to your inner browser fan.
