EverQuest II went Free-to-Play in December so what about the original EverQuest, the Grandfather of all MMORPGs? SONY Online Entertainment has officially announced that EverQuest will go free in March, just in time for it’s 13th birthday! All players will receive a “Welcome Pack” containing items to help them get started in their adventure. The dev team will be hosting a community webcast on Thursday, February 2nd that will answer questions posted on their Facebook and Twitter pages. EverQuest was released on March 6, 1999 and has had 18 expansions in the 13 years of it’s life, the latest being Veil of Alaris, which released on November 15, 2011.
