SOE Closing 4 Struggling Free-To-Play Titles

As seen on Todays Daily XP Video!

During an AMA event over the weekend Sony Online Entertainment announced
the forthcoming closure for 4 of it’s free-to-play MMO games. Free Realms, Star
Wars: Clone Adventures, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Wizardy Online will all be
facing the axe later this year.

Free Realms
and Star Wars will face closure on March 31st while the latter
two previously mentioned MMO titles will see their last day on July 31st.

SOE
stated that both Star Wars and Free Realms would be closing as the titles
appealed to a younger audience that has now grown and moved on to other
experiences, while Vanguard and Wizardry Online will close due to age and
quality. Wizardry Online is still a baby in MMO terms but one that hit every
branch on the ugly tree before rolling down unsightly hill and sinking to the
depths of hideous ocean – yes, it was that bad.

In related news Sony Online Entertainment have also announced the upcoming
release of All Access membership subscription’s across their MMO network set to
launch on April 2nd. For $14.99 players will receive a variety of benefits,
including top tiered access to every MMO in SOE’s arsenal. For more information
you can check out the official forum post.
