Netmarble have just announced that their recently launched MMORPG game, Arcane Saga, will be ceasing all services come September 16th. Arcane Saga only went into open beta testing in May this year but the game has already come to the end of its short life following an announcement on the official website.
After much consideration we have made the difficult decision to
retire Arcane Saga. As of today the cash shop has been permanently
closed. On September 16th the game servers will go offline. We want to
thank all our fans, old and new, for their support. Without you, we
would have never made it this far.
Any NC you currently have will still be available to spend on our
other titles.Additionally our GM staff has planned a whole host of
events leading up to our final day including XP Boosts, Boss Event and
much more. As a final thank you to all our players we are planning to
offer special packages to our other PC online titles: District 187,
Uncharted Waters Online and Dice Venture. These will be announced in the
coming weeks.
The post goes on to offer details regarding the closure of the game with the Netmarble employee stating it was purely down to money. The game was not generating enough revenue to cover development costs and so they decided to cease services in September. It’s not hard to see the impact this has had on the current player base, one individual left the following comment.
Close down not only your games but also your company, that way you will
be able to save not just money and effort but also other PEOPLES LIVES AND TIME!
