Bigpoint, publisher of popular online games like Battlestar Galactica Online and Drakesang Online, is a pretty big company. They?re responsible for the upkeep of more than 60 free MMOs, and they keep each one updated with new content and other improvements. Today, the company celebrated a major milestone ? their games, combined, have over 250 million players.
In the press release issued by the company, Bigpoint noted that through its network of over 1,000 browser-based game portals, the company?s games bring a quarter of a million new players each and every day. Bigpoint has an internal development studio but also outsources work when necessary to a number of smaller studios.
There?s no information on how many of these players are investing money in the games? bonus features or additional content, nor is their data explaining the revenue or profits generated by these players. What we do know is that 250 million players is quite a bit, and Bigpoint should be proud of the massive F2P MMO empire they have built.
Have you ever played one of Bigpoint?s games? What did you think of the experience they offered?
