Many fans of the popular survival horror multiplayer experience offered by DayZ have taken to various online boards today to express their disappointment following some details regarding the potential release date. It’s been 3 weeks since DayZ released under the Steam Early Access program and although arguments regarding the price have begun to die down, there’s a whole new topic attracting the player-base.
Both the official forums and Steam forums have been inundated with complaints regarding the state of the alpha client and its complete lack of features – despite warnings from the developers to avoid purchasing – but now players have taken to complaining about information released on the official website.
A new post on the official website states the following:
The DayZ Alpha is available for early adopters from Steam for 23.99 Euros.
Please be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our
core pillars, and the framework we have created around them. It?s a work
in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. We strongly
advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly
understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating
in the ongoing development cycle. Please keep in mind that we do not
expect to reach Beta status sooner than the end of 2014.
The post also highlights some previously mentioned upcoming features. For more information click here.
