As the first cross-media project between the world of the MMO and a popular cable television network, things looked promising for Defiance but after months on the free-to-play market, one of the entertainment mediums is struggling. The Creative Lead behind Defiance, Trick Dempsey, once said in an interview that the Defiance game would survive easily survive even if the TV series suffered by months down the line it appears the opposite is more likely.
As Defiance slowly disappears amidst the MMO games of yesteryear the TV series continues to prove popular as the SyFy cable television network has announced that it has been renewed for a third season.
“The New Frontier is changing. Votan and Human cities alike lay crumbling under the force of terraforming weaponry,” said Dempsey during an interview with Polygon.
“Refugees flee onto the frontier, and warlords rise to stake their
claim in the chaos. Is this the end of the Earth Republic? Will
civilization descend into a new Pale War or will we rise above in a
spirit of Defiance?”
Whether the new series will see a return to previous popularity for the Defiance MMO is yet to be seen, but it’s a sure win for fans of the SyFy channel.

Honestly, if the servers were more reliable, it would not be suffering.
