The first details of how Assassin?s Creed will tie in with the Wii U have become available.
The recent issue of Nintendo Power has mentioned that the Wii U touch screen controller will act as a link to the Animus within the game where this displays an on-screen map and navigation tool.
Animus Database entries may pop up, without disruption of the flow game, and could be displayed on the screen instead. The controller also acts as an encyclopedia of information with character biographies, and other information that normally would be put off to the side, so you can read up on the characters to get a better understanding.
One of the more interesting aspects of the Wii U in regards to Assassin?s Creed III would be the touchscreen weapon selection during combat. It allows the player to have a quick change from dual-wielding combat to single with a mere touch.
Last but not least, the touchscreen allows as an alternate view of Eagle Vision. The controller?s built-in accelerometer lets you control the camera while you are in the Eagle Vision.
All-in-all, it will be interesting to see just how the Wii U will affect video games in general in the future. This is just one aspect on how it will play out and it already seems quite intriguing as it is considering everything goes well and as planned.
Assassin?s Creed III comes out on October 30th, 2012 for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. There is no known release date for the Wii U version of the game just yet, but Nintendo plans on having it released by the time of Christmas 2012.
