Halo 4 is officially being released on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. The new game will be set four years after Halo 3 and you will be able to see the game’s hero, Master Chief, “confront his destiny and face an ancient evil”.
“November 6 is an important date in Halo’s vast and fascinating history. For the uninitiated, that was the day the Master Chief found a weapon, a parched Grunt stumbled upon the starship, and Staff Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson discovered the answer to one of life’s most perplexing questions,” Microsoft wrote on the Xbox website.
Halo games have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide.
The pre-orders are now being accepted by Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart and the Microsoft store for $59.99.
The first-person shooter first appeared on the original Xbox console in 2001, before moving to the Xbox 360 with games like Halo 3 and Halo Reach.
This will be the first time that the developer, 343 Industries, which is a part of Microsoft’s in-house games department, will be in charge of producing the new Halo for the first time ever. It has overtaken Bungie, who previously made the other games in the series.
The new game marks the start of a new triology, Microsoft said.
