Games-Master today announced the opening of the European closed beta sign ups for the highly anticipated action MMORPG, RAN Online. I was rather surprised to see this in my email inbox this morning as RAN Online originally released in Korea back in 2004. Almost 10 years later the Western audiences finally have the opportunity to sample the game, but is that too late?
The game advertises the traditional boasts of the MMORPG genre. Extensive questing, high octane PvP, adrenaline fueled combat and difficult boss battles. Not exactly busting out the unique factors of today’s MMO industry if you ask me.
To make matters worse the closed beta sign up is a little…well, lackluster. The new European website showcases the game with a rather poor quality video and a simple sign-up button. The boasts are dated, the graphics look dated and the game is almost a decade old. The developers of Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn must be seriously worried about the new competition.
