Lord of the Rings Online (LotRO for short) is a phenomenal game and is incredibly well designed. Originally a pay-to-play title, LotRO made the conversion to free-to-play in 2011. As a licensed game, there was already a fan base to play the game at it’s launch in 2007, but now it has grown to be a highly popular MMO after become free, welcoming back old players and giving new players a fresh experience.
League of Legends is an amazing free-to-play MOBA (Massive Online Battle Game) heavily inspired by the infamous WarCraft III mod, DotA (Defense of the Ancients). In LoL, players take control of hero characters in an RTS-like setting as they lead armies to victory against other player’s characters or AI opponents (useful for training to play in the online arena).
#3: Battlestar Galactica Online
Fans of Battlestar Galactica have a really cool space game to play. Kinda like a free-to-play version of EVE, players control space ships and try to destroy other crafts, but this game is different in that it plays entirely in your browser window!
#4: Simraceway
Simraceway is basically a PC-powered Gran Turismo, but without the cost. Beautifully rendered cars race in this highly polished racing sim. Couple that with a racing wheel hooked up to your PC and you’re in a Ferrari, right from your desk.
