Long time publisher of Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, Turbine, recently announced that the studio will no longer be involved in the development of either game, instead handing the responsibility to a newly formed independent studio. Turbine announced their plans to transition to the mobile sector of game development earlier in the year and have been suffering layoffs ever since.
Standing Stone Games will now be in charge of both games, a newly formed independent studio that consists of members previously with Turbine working on Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online.
Daybreak Games, formerly Sony Online Entertainment, will also be getting involved acting as the publisher for both titles globally.
