WAKFU has been steaming steadily through its open beta period, and late last week Square Enix validated rumors that the game was ready for an official launch. Thanks to an update form the game?s official blog, it?s now clear that WAKFU will be up and running on February 29.
Developer by Ankama, WAKFU is a unique MMO that combines turn-based strategy with traditional free-to-play MMO mechanics. The game will launch with most content accessible for free, but a premium subscription will be available for $6.00 per month. There?s also a cash shop, as has become standard in the free MMO marketplace.
Here are some details on the game, straight from the announcement:
?Featuring an amazing anime art style, players can choose from 12 unique character classes and engage in rebuilding a world lost in chaos through strategic combat, crafting, and even national politics!?
Square Enix is a trusted name in the world of role-playing games, so it will be curious to watch how this foray into the F2P market goes. In the meantime, you can join the open beta by clicking this link: WAKFU.
