Digital Extremes today announced that the massively popular MMOTPS co-op MMO game, Warframe, will be available as a PlayStation 4 console exclusive. The game was originally confirmed as a PlayStation 4 title in June of this year and is currently available as a free-to-play title on PC. Warframe has already managed to attract over 3 million players and that number is expected to explode come the launch of the next-generation.
?With
how the industry is evolving, this really is the Player Generation,?
said Steve Sinclair, creative director at Digital Extremes. ?Games are
reaching players hands in so many different ways now and Sony gets it,
which is why we are bringing Warframe exclusively to the PS4? first. There?s no reason not to download Warframe on day 1 if you?re an action game lover ? it?s free!?
The exact details of the exclusivity is sketchy at best. The official PR email stated that Warframe will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive for 3 months following the November 15th launch. However, Warframe has not been confirmed as an Xbox One or Wii U title. Does this mean we can expect Warframe to launch on other next-generation consoles after the 3 month period?
