KingsIsle Entertainment have just announced that their incredibly popular free MMORPG game, Wizard101, is now available for Mac players across the globe. Despite appearances Wizard101 is not a game meant purely for the younger MMO gamer, in actual fact it has become quite the opposite on certain MMO boards and forums. The uniquely engaging combat, combined with animations unrivaled in the free-to-play MMO world, have helped to create a game loved by millions.
?Over the last four years more than 30 million users have registered to play Wizard101 on the PC,? said Josef Hall, vice president of Development at KingsIsle Entertainment. ?Today we are very pleased to open up the Wizard101 universe to millions of Mac users.?
Mac availability has always been one of the most requested features from the Wizard101 community; and now they finally have the opportunity to explore the vivid world of Wizard101 on their Mac display. Both the PC and Mac versions can be downloaded today, you can grab them from the official website.
Aside from bringing a smile to the faces of Mac users this latest update has helped restore some of the faith lost after players heard of the departure of J. Todd Coleman, the co-creator of Wizard101. In his letter he explained that he wanted to move on, tackle new challenges and invent new ideas; the community responded with heartfelt goodbyes and good wishes, but many took to the boards claiming doom and gloom.
What is next for me? I?m a storyteller, so I will keep doing what I do best ? dream up ideas, breathe life into characters, build worlds for you to explore? only next time, I want to do it for myself. I?m an entrepreneur at heart. A new company, a new game, a new story? I?m not ready to say, but when I?ve got something to show, you guys will be the first to know.
