Grand Theft Auto Online Continues To Struggle

Rockstar Games finally released the next-generation versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online last week, but things didn’t quite go as planned. Originally the servers seemed to be coping well with the strain of a new release with online features but as the weekend loomed, the problems began.

Many of those waiting to transfer characters from last generation versions found themselves left with little choice than to begin a new character while the servers caught up with the increasing demand. Those that were able to transfer characters reported bizarre inconsistencies including the random disappearance of weapons, the loss of vehicles during the transfer, and in some cases having to edit character appearance at each log in.

Rockstar Games wasted no time in providing a response, reassuring players that they were looking into the problem and hoped to have a fix ready by weeks end. They kept true to their word and released a number of updates for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and although most of the more severe problems appear to have been fixed, several minor issues still linger and many are still suffering from connectivity issues.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates that help resolve the problems with GTA Online.
