Sony Online Entertainment today announced that the exciting Player Studio Program will be available for residents outside of the US for the first time. Currently exclusive to US residents the Player Studio Program gives talented designers the opportunity of fame and fortune as they create a variety of unique items that can be approved and sold in item malls across the SOE MMO range.
The announcement follows exciting details that help to open the potential of the Player Studio Program to those without any serious levels of experience. Currently the program is reserved for those skilled in the creation of objects through 3D modeling software but the May 1st launch of the new Player Studio will see the EverQuest Next: Landmark tools come into play.
Using the incredibly in-depth tools available in-game players will be able to build within the client itself, submitting their creations for approval in the Player Studio.
“Landmark
offers powerful and intuitive tools that enable players to build just
about anything they can imagine,” said Dave Georgeson, Director of
Development, EverQuest franchise. “Players who choose to participate
will be able to make meaningful royalties by building in and playing the
game they love. Our vision is that some prolific and talented creators
will turn this into a full-time career.”
Despite currently being locked to US residents the Player Studio has enjoyed huge levels of success. Over 5,000 entries have been submitted across 17 different item categories in 3 of Sony Online Entertainment’s biggest titles.
