Pantheon Fails To Rise To The Kickstarter Challenge

Yesterday marked the end of the road for Brad McQuaid’s MMORPG venture on Kickstarter as the high fantasy MMORPG, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, failed to meet its Kickstarter funding goal but it’s not all that surprising. Midway through the Kickstarter campaign MMOAttack reported that the future was looking grim for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, having only managed to attract $385,000 of its $800,000 goal.

In a last ditch effort to attract the $340,000 they needed on the final day Brad McQuaid took to Kickstarter to tell fans that all quantity restrictions on supporter packages had been removed and that all players would get “full access” to the post-Kickstarter development site:

“For the final day of the Kickstarter, we have removed all caps to
pretty much every tier. And, if we reach our $800k goal, we’ll offer
FREE FULL ACCESS to the Post-Kickstarter development site for all
Kickstarter Pledgers for three months!”

Although the extra incentive failed to attract enough investment the website has now gone live and a new fundraising effort is in place. As the Kickstarter campaign failed supporters will not be charged and can now instead offer financial support via a PayPal option on the official website. The package rewards from Kickstarter have been applied to the website system as well as other bonuses including full access to private developer forums.
