Okay folks, brace yourselves… another petition has been released, only this time, it is for Dark Souls. Almost immediately after the announcement of Dark Souls for the PC, a petition was started in reaction to Dark Souls’ use of Game for Windows Live. It now almost has 20,000 signatures, and shows no signs of wanting to slow down.
Apparently gamers are making it clear that Games for Windows Live is a dealbreaker. It is unlikely that the From Software developer has the time or money to change the netcode for the game so close to its release date, but if it does anything, it sends out a strong message to developers that no one likes GFWL. Multiple developers have moved away from the system due to consumer complaints, including games like Relic’s Dawn of War franchise.
Another interesting thing to note the original Dark Souls for PC petition hit roughly 90,000 sigs.
Take a look at the petition for yourself.
