Almost a month to the day Trion Worlds announced the upcoming free-to-play transition for their popular MMORPG game, Rift. Beginning today players will be able to explore the famous dynamic battles, titanic boss fights and in-depth class system without any subscription or hidden fees. The world of Telara is at your feet.
?The aim is to keep free and paid players on the same level ? this is not pay-to-win,? said Bill Fisher, Creative Director of RIFT. ?Players will see key differences between RIFT and other MMOs that have adopted free-to-play: we don?t restrict content, and we don?t offer pay-to-win items.?
Unlike other free-to-play transitions in the past, Rift won’t place any unnecessary restrictions on free players. As a free member you will have access to every zone, every level and every feature in the Rift arsenal. An extensive item mall has been added that offers mounts, pets, boosts and a variety of other goodies but the very best weapons and items can only be obtained through the game itself.
The highly anticipated Empyreal Assault update has also been added featuring a massive new game zone, 10-player raids and open-world bosses. If you’ve not sampled Rift during its time as a pay-to-play title, now is your chance.
