THQ Needs Help with Dark Millennium

THQ has been in trouble as of late, with sinking profits, an employee exodus and NASDAQ threatening to pull the company off the stock exchange. These financial woes have left many of THQ?s franchises in doubt as it scales back production and let go some of its non-key team members.

It looks like yet another game may fall victim to the great THQ implosion, this one an eagerly awaited MMO set in the world of Warhammer 40,000. Dark Millennium Online was announced way back in 2007 and was reported to have a 2013 release window, but THQ has just confirmed that it can no longer continue development on the title without the aid of a third party.

THQ CEO Brian Ferrell noted that the company would like to continue development, but they?ll need the help of another company to mitigate the initial costs and limit the risk of THQ. This new tack reflects THQ?s decision to be more ?realistic? about the game?s prospects.

We?ll keep you updated as the situation rolls out ? in the meantime, it looks like Dark Millennium may never make it to store shelves.
