What may come as great news to some reading this article, WoW continued to lose subscribers in Q3. Activision Blizzard announced that the WoW playerbase was 10.3 million players, which is 800,000 less than the 11.1 million they had in August.
For the year this means they are down 1.7 million players. Blizzards CEO stated that most of the players lost were form eastern countries. And if you feel bad for Blizzard, don?t as their profits are skyrocketing. In fact they have tripled from the same time last year to the nice sounding number of $627 million and they expect a further increase in Q4 with the launch of games such as MW3 and Diablo 3.
Looking in to Q4 for WoW it wouldn?t be surprising the least to see their subscribers dip below 10 million for the first time in years. Is this finially going to be the end of the World………… of Warcraft? Tell us what you think below.
