There are much bigger things on the horizon for Snail Games’ wuxia-powered MMORPG, Age of Wushu. We know that they recently announced their first expansion at E3, and are now announcing that they plan on bringing their popular MMO to consoles, mobile devices, and as a feature film.
There are not much in terms of details at this point, the company’s press release states that more details will be provided at a later date, but the promise of bringing their Age of Wushu IP to a much larger audience is one that is both intriguing and surprising. Don’t get me wrong, the game is very polished and has definitely stolen some time from my usual WoW/GW2 playtime, but I didn’t realize just how big they plan on making the franchise.
Snail Games founder and chairman Shi Hai had this to say: “The Age of Wushu game looks and plays like a major martial arts motion picture, so bringing the property to movie screens is a logical evolution. Our goal has always been for the property to reach the widest audience so evolving to a feature film and expanding the experience to consoles and mobile devices continues our plan.”
