Games Campus today announced the upcoming closure of its struggling sports MMORPG game, Real Soccer. The game was first announced in May of this year before entering its open beta period in June, but since that time the developers have failed to attract enough players to support development costs.
As such the game servers and forums will be closing on December 30th at 12:00 PM GMT. The developers left the following message on the official website:
Today is a sad day for all of us. We are deeply sorry to inform you that the Real Soccer services will be closed at 12:00 on 30 December 2013.
It was a great pleasure working on the game with you, we absolutely
enjoyed the time. Unfortunately, the current development process doesn?t
allow us to continue running this game.
Players that have purchased the premium in-game currency, CC, will have the opportunity to request a full refund from December 2nd to December 30th. For more information on the refund process you can check the official website here.
