Champions Online is a superhero MMORPG that was released by Cryptic Studios in late 2009. Cryptic Studios is responsible for the creation of the highly rated games, City of Heroes and City of Villains. Their newest game aims to take many of the components that made the sequels so great and add in a number of unique features that make Champions Online one of the most popular MMORPGs out there today.

One of the most popular features of Champions Online is its robust character creation. The game offers players one of the most advanced character design elements where you can express your character in almost any way your brain can imagine. It may be a little daunting at first, being able to choose from hundreds of parts imaginable, like legs, tails, ears, eyes, nose, anything! After character creation, you are faced with selecting the proper powers to battle your foes. Selecting initial superpowers is only the beginning as you will be upgrading to super stats and character focuses along your journey.

The gameplay is very smooth and action packed. Your character seems to effortlessly take down enemies with your main abilities while your basic powers allow you to increase your energy reserves while you fight. From your initial glimpse of Millennium City you?ll noticed that you are surrounded by a visually stunning world.

Champions Online was originally released as a pay to play MMORPG with a free trial, but their free-to-play option was added in early 2011. Forsaken World is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG that takes cues from European mythology. With five races and eight classes, Forsaken World has a great deal of options to choose from for character customization. Set in the world of Eydra, players can explore the world, engage in PvP combat, fight monsters to level up, and group up for dungeon exploring.

Launched into open beta on March 9th, 2011, this is the sixth MMORPG launched by Perfect World entertainment for North America. Forsaken World has several original features including a Vampire race called the Kindred, floating fortresses which are fought over by guilds on the server and map-wide skill effects. A unique PvP system that allows up to 10 players per server to become Gods is one of the more unique attributes to this free to play MMO.

Character customization is one of the most advanced of any MMORPG to date, with the ability to change your face, skin, hair style, and hair color are all customizable with dozens of options, including a unique flair for each facial choice for each race. The very detailed world and advanced questing features make Forsaken World one of the better free to play MMORPGs out there today. Conquer Online

Conquer Online is a free MMORPG set in mythical China. Released by TQ digital entertainment, the game has recently celebrated its eighth anniversary. The game’s control system relies heavily on mouse usage, the user being required to click for almost every action.Quests in Conquer Online are as simple as they come, most of them focus on having the player kill an indefinite number of monsters looking to score the quest loot.As the drop rates are not exactly “user-friendly”, questing might prove to be a long and most tedious task, especially if one is not accustomed to the grind aspects of MMORPG with Asian origins. There are seven classes in Conquer Online, each with their own set of skills, weapons and armor proficiencies. You can go for the Ninja if you are into slashing monsters up.

The Archer if you like the idea of a pin cushion. The Fire Taoist if you always thought that the bigger the weapon the bigger the damage. A Monk if you accustomed to hearing voices and healing people with the power of your mind.

A Water Taoist if you like to be like the Fire Taoist, but slightly different. A Warrior for shield proficiency and finally you can choose to become a Trojan so you can wield two weapons at the same time and inflict massive damage on your enemies.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Update

Another very popular MMORPG has recently announced an update to their game. BioWare released a new trailer today detailing some new features that will be coming to Star Wars: The Old Republic. James Ohlen, game director, shows off some of the the systems being implemented to the game including a new Warzone, guild banks, PvP ranks, new Legacy details, and UI customization. He also states that they will be listening to the community for any feedback and for ideas on any new features that fans would like to be seen in the game. Fly For Fun (better known as Flyff) is a 3D fantasy MMORPG with fun animated graphics. Start as a Vagrant then chose one of four jobs at level fifteen.  Once you get the level twenty you have the option to buy a flying broom or skateboard, which takes the game to a whole new level when you get to explore the large game world from the skies.

Flyff is one of the most popular free-to-play MMORPGs available.  Flyff has a great animated graphical style that?s easy on the eyes, but is beginning to show its age. First released in 2005, the game is continually updated and is on its 12th ‘version’. Like many Asian MMORPGs, players in Flyff start out as a beginner class and then choose a job upon reaching a higher level.

This game has a very light feel and its monsters are not exactly terrifying. Killing cute mushrooms and other forest creatures during the early levels does make way for slightly more sinister villains as the game progresses. Unlike games like WoW, Flyff takes a more grinding approach with quests not a key part of the progression, and having only recently been added at all.

Even after several years, Flyff still stands out as both an easily accessible and enjoyable MMORPG experience. The game?s large community and all the content that has been added over time make up for the game?s old age.
