Build an MMO Gaming PC 2015

In this video we’re going to talk about what kind of machine you’re going to need for current and future MMOs. There are lots of new MMOs coming out, and with upgraded graphics in games like WoW, you’ll want to get the proper equipment!

[heading]Memory[/heading]You’ll want at least 8GB of RAM to start out with.  If you can get more, go for 16, but 8GB is still gonna cost you under $100.

G.Skill Ripjawx X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600

[heading]Storage[/heading]You’ll need at least 1TB of HDD space for your applications, software, pictures music.  BUT, for your MMO, you’ll want a whole separate drive, a Solid State Drive, SSD.  If you’re going to playing one MMO or multiple MMOs, if you want to have a really good time, put it on an SSD, the load times will vanish, the game will run so much smoother because of all the textures and items you’re loading on a constant basis.

Samsung 840 – 850 Series SSD

[heading]Video Card[/heading]A lot of MMOs, don’t have a huge amount of graphic fidelity, so if you want to play current gen, you probably won’t need to go super crazy on a video card, but for next-gen titles, you’ll definitely want a next-gen card to help you now and into the future.  This might be in the $200 to $300 price range for these cards

For Budget: R9 270X

For Enthusiast/Longevity: GTX 970

[heading]CPU[/heading]If you can afford it, get a core i7 because of the integrated graphics.  But because we’re building with a new gaming video card, you won’t need to go that route. There are plenty of budget CPUs that are fast and have all you need.  You’ll want to get more than a dual core, get 4 or more, and possibly with overclock potential.  4.0GHz of course!

For Budget and Overclockers: AMD FX 8350

For those with $$$: Intel Core i7

[heading]Motherboard[/heading]

For Budget: ASRock H97m Pro4

For Money Bags: ASUS 1150 Intel Z87

Top Played League Champions (September 2014) | League of Legends

The League of Legends community seems to be on its toes this month as September sees a number of high mobility Champions make an impact on our top 10 most played Champions list. September has also proven to be one of the more bizarre lists of recent months with the vast majority of Champions failing to secure even a 1/1 win to loss ratio.

Kha’Zix
Taking the 10th spot for this month Kha’Zix the Void Reaver makes his mark with a little over 174,000 matches on Summoner’s Rift. As the League of Legends community continues to evolve and players become more skilled at fighting specific Champions – the strong 1 versus 1 ability of Kha’Zix has fallen off in recent months although September shows that some of the LoL community still feel the need to split from their team when a Kha’Zix becomes visible.

Just for the record, that’s not a good idea.

Thresh
Entering in at number 9 is Thresh, the Chain Warden. Accumulating a little over 181,000 matches throughout September, Thresh makes another lowly finish following similar drops in popularity in 2014.

Winning 89,000 matches in a single month is rarely a negative aspect when ranking the Champions of League but with a little over 91,000 losses, Thresh is the first of many Champions this month that have failed to meet expectations.

Jinx
Exploding onto the scene at the end of 2013 Jinx enjoyed an incredibly successful debut period but has since failed to remain in the spotlight. The Loose Cannon is part of this months growing mobility trend following the appearance of many unexpected faces.

Participating in a little over 184,000 games this month Jinx is one of the few Champions that has enjoyed a successful win to loss campaign with 95,000 wins to 89,000 losses. Not a huge margin but still one of the best for September.

Zed
Arguably the most mobile Champion on the League of Legends roster the deadly caster of shadows makes his mark as Zed claims 6th place for September. His massive damage output made Zed a figurehead for banning throughout the year but as time passed the community opted to choose easy counter-picks instead of wasting a valuable ban.

With Akali making a return as one of the most often banned Champions, Zed has taken advantage and earned one of his best finishes of the year.

Lucian
The Purifier stamps his mark on September as Lucian just misses out on his first top 5 finish in months. Losing out on 5th place by a mere 5,000 matches, Lucian made 205,000 appearances this month and was just about able to finish with a positive win to loss ratio but only just – about 1000 matches.

Tristana
Taking her rightful place with a mid-table finish is Tristana, the Megling Gunner. 107,00 wins to 99,000 losses makes Tristana one of the most successful Champions of September but was unable to make an impression on the top 3 with a little under 210,000 matches this month.

Vayne
Tumbling in at number 4 (see what I did there?) is everyone’s favorite stalker of the darkness, Vayne the Night Hunter. Exploding into over 223,000 games this month Vayne has endured a rather negative experience in the world of the win to loss ratio with 115,000 losses to 108,000 wins.

Despite a rather poor performance in September, Vayne has more than proven her prowess on the battlefield with a number of high-place finishes throughout 2014.

Blitzcrank
Everyone’s favorite League of Legends trolls proves he’s not just a one trick pony with another impressive finish in 2014. The Steam Golem hasn’t spent much of his time contending for the top spots of our monthly lists but with recent months proving favorable, Blitzcrank takes another top 5 finish.

Lee Sin
The Blind Monk is quite simply one of the most popular Champions in League of Legends. Month after a month Lee Sin makes an appearance in our top 10 lists and for most of those months, he’s contending for the top spots.

September doesn’t mark one of Lee Sin’s greatest achievements but as other Champions come into favor on an almost random basis, Lee Sin continues to prove his dominance on the Summoner’s Rift battlefield.

Yasuo
Taking the coveted 1st place finish for September sees Yasuo the Unforgiven storm the top 10 with a massive lead – topping Lee Sin by over 110,000 games throughout the month. A popular choice due to his incredible levels of synergy with other League Champions, Yasuo continues to remain in favor with the LoL community.

His accesible ability set also deserves some credit for his popularity as it’s a simple equation of attack speed vs ownage.

Top Played Dota 2 Heroes (September 2014) | Dota 2

Welcome back attack to our September edition of the top played dota 2 heroes. In our august list we saw the same ten heroes as July, only with different orders, which made for kind of a boring list, unfortunately this month there’s not a huge difference in the ranks, in fact there’s only one new hero, and he’s, or THEY, are brand new to the game. I’m guessing you already know who I’m talking about. Let’s get to the list.

At ten this month is Earthshaker, Earthshaker has enjoyed a bit of a popularity surge since his showing in The International 4 this summer. An eighth place finish in August, followed up a ninth place finish in July, and now he sits here right on the edge of elimination with a respectable 52.77% win rate, which is the highest of anyone in the top 10.

Techies are here! The techies make their first appearance on our list, during their first full month in the game. Techies have some interesting, and rather sluggish stats. Of their over 5 million matches played, they have less than a %44 win rate, which would place them in the bottom 20 for that category, and a 1.49 kill to death ratio, which is the absolute worst in the game. Even IO is laughing at you!

Bloodseeker has enjoyed a place on our top ten list here since we started back in March of this year. He’s ranged between 5 and 7 the entire time, except for this month. His 8th place finish is the lowest we’ve seen him at, but with only about 120,000 matches played behind Riki, it doesn’t look like he’s destined for another fall next month.

Riki is another hero who has placed on our list each and every month. Riki has had a much rougher go of it though, slipping slowly from 5 in March to 9 last month, but his 7th place finish in September shows that he’s back in rare form. He was recently updated in the Rekindling Soul Update in late september, so Riki did enjoy a surge from that. I won’t be surprised to see him rank higher next month.

Invoker sees his lowest finish of the year here at 6th most played. His magic seems to be running dry, as he held the number 2 spot for much of the year until recently. Invoker is a challenging but powerful hero, which may be why people love to play him. I however, am not one who can claim Invoker as my most played. He’s freaking hard guys.

Like much of the rest of the list, Mirana has been top played every month this year. This is Mirana’s lowest finish of the year here at 5, but she does have one of the higher win rates of the group at 52% and the second highest kill to death ratio at 2.76, behind only Riki. Can you guys guess who has the highest KDA of anyone in the game? It’s Spectre.

Phantom Assassin has slowly trudged through the rankings in the last few months. Her debut in May to the list at 9 saw her overtake the top five in July, and this is her lowest ranking yet here at four. PA’s rework during the Spring Cleaning patch has made her one of the favorites and it’s likely you are seeing here in every other game you play. Am i right?

Faceless Void poked his head on the list in June at 9th place, and has quickly found himself in the top 3 with his finishes the last two months. The Rekindling Soul update this month did nerf his Chronosphere, well, barely. The area of effect was reduced and no longer lingers, but that hasn’t stopped him, won’t stop him.

Now of course, Sniper and Pudge. Sniper has been at secone spot since June, and Pudge, has been the number one on this list since March, and i’m guessing he probably was long before that as well, as his matches played for the month, 9.1 million, far exceed Sniper at 7.8 million and Faceless Void at 6.8 million. Sniper has a higher win rate and kill to death ratio, but people love Pudge. They just fucking love him! Do you? Are you a Pudge player? Let us know in the comments below!

Top 10 Best Mobile MMOs | Android and iOS MMOs

top-10-mobile-mmos-ios-android

The mobile MMO market must be a tough nut to crack, since 90 percent of the genre are just poorly done copies. However, the market is niche and new and with that territory also comes a few wonderful little snowflakes. Mobile multiplayer technology is starting to catch up to a playable state, but still there are many games truly unworthy of even mentioning so, lets sift through the sand to find gold, here in Attack Gamings top ten Mobile MMO.

[playnow url=”http://thumbhero.com/a/17″ title=”On Your Phone?  Links to Games!”]

[heading]Ingress[/heading]Starting the list lets talk about Ingress. This is one of those new and emerging augmented mobile mmo that uses gps data to overlay a virtual world on top of our own. Ingress is special because of its sheer production scale. The game is not only massive, but also episodic and even has real life events centered around its in game progression. Gameplay visually is just some simple shapes with some splashy colors, but its entire focus is on the META where players team up to maintain portals that are springing up all over the Ingress world. The game is at number ten because it lacks character and also due to the fact that if you don’t live in a city or can attend the events, it is basically worthless.

[heading]Order and Chaos Online[/heading]At number 9 we have Order and Chaos Online. It is so low on the list because of its age and uniquity or lack there of. It is essentially a wow clone scaled down to fit on a mobile device. It isn’t bad, but it can only be called something new if you consider its presence on the mobile market. There is pvp and also your very usual questing, Order and Chaos might not be an entirely new concept gameplay wise, but when holding it in your hands, it can feel pretty impressive. This is a game that is friendly for all ages and is pretty cheap considering the amount of content that you get.

[heading]Boom Beach[/heading]Next up we have Boom Beach at number 8. Boom Beach is an mmorts that has players building up their defenses while at the same time assaulting enemies islands to reap the rewards. Graphics are cartoony and clean, meaning it will run and look good on most devices and the gameplay is incredibly addicting. There is actually a high level of strategy that exists in this game somewhere between the childish artstyle and the silly name, meaning it can be a fun casual or even hardcore experience.

[heading]Parallel Kingdoms[/heading]Here we are feeling lucky with our 7 Parallel Kingdoms. Similar to our number ten Ingress, Parallel Kingdoms is a mmo game that uses your gps to navigate through the virtual game world. It is more approachable of a game because of its relatable characterization and its simpler but impactful gameplay. You will be slaying epic monsters either in dungeons or in your own backyard. You have levels, unique skills, a player driven economy and the ability to claim territory, Parallel Kingdoms would be a great first venture into gps mmo games if you are up for adventure.

[heading]Dungeon Hunter 4[/heading]Seeing our way through, on to number six, Dungeon Hunter 4 This is a game that has a ton of character but at the same time providing really awesome action with some rpg gameplay elements of course to top the icing. While there are many similar games that all have different aesthetics, we have to give it to the production quality on this one which we would expect coming from the successful creators of our number 9 Order and Chaos.

[heading]Avabel Online[/heading]Breaking halfway through the list is Avabel Online. Avabel is a more eastern style game but also a lot action packed than Order and Chaos. It might take a newer model to play smoothly but the game looks pretty good for a mobile game. PvP, dungeons, and a bigger world than you are probably prepared for, Avabel Online might lack depth in certain aspect but it is mechanically impressive for being played on a phone.

[heading]Illyriad[/heading]Into the big bad 4, here is Illyriad. The mobile genre is not the only one that is flooded with town building mmo games, but considering that, Illyriad is absolutely one of the more intriguing out of the entire scene. What makes this game so different is its sheer depth. If you were the kind of person to memorize monster stats for Dungeons and Dragons or explore superfluous lore in other video games, then this is the mmo for you. Not only is the world rich with fantasy lore and art but it is a very hardcore gameplay experience at that with competitive territories, economy, and with just how much customization you have between choosing spells to crafting. Not an easy game to get into, but pretty easy to get lost in once you do.

[heading]Zenonia[/heading]Sitting comfortably at our number 3 position, we have the cherished series Zenonia. Zenonia from the first game to the newest MMO rendition, Zenonia Online, has had interesting lore, extremely clean graphics, and challenging gameplay. Zenonia has had online interactions in previous games with arenas but only now will players have a full multiplayer experience like the game deserves. Zenonia Online promises to be the highest quality 2d action mmo on mobile with tried and true gameplay mechanics that fans have loved since the start. While it isn’t released yet in the west, if you haven’t tried at least one Zenonia title yet we implore that you do so as soon as you can.

[heading]Clash of Clans[/heading]Our second place position is probably no surprise, of course it’s Clash of Clans.
From the makers of another game on our list, Boom Beach, Clash of Clans is the single most iconic mmorts out right now. Copies are springing up left and right and despite this games childish appearance, it has garnered a very large competitive following. Not only do you fully customize your city for better defenses, but you also have a tower offense style of gameplay when assaulting others! Mechanically, Clash of Clans has a lot in common with Boom Beach, especially the level of quality, but what sets Clash of Clans apart from the rest is simply its iconization. Once you’ve seen this game in action, it is very likely that you won’t ever forget it.

[heading]Albion Online[/heading]Finally to find out what our first place winner is, Our number 1 mobile mmo – Albion Online.
While technically not released yet, already in its alpha stages it is shaping up to be a great if not one of the best hardcore pvp mmo’s out there and that is in regards to mobile devices or otherwise. The graphics are timeless with cell shading that looks better than even some desktop games yet it still runs great. Controls are extremely intuitive on mobile despite such a need for accuracy and timing. Yes, this is not an easy game. It is entirely focused on player buildings from houses to kingdoms and waging war with rival guilds. Resource gathering from chopping down trees next door to adventuring deep into the depths of dungeons are both risky with how unforgiving death can be and especially considering that you walk slower the more loot you are carrying. No classes, but expect a number of spells that you can custom slot and lots of different armors to help you play the role you want to play. If you want a game that forces you to plan escape routes out of dungeons and has you paying taxes on the land you own, its for you. If you identify as a carebear however, maybe you should look to another top ten list.

Joking aside, thanks for watching and if you want to see more news or first impressions on upcoming games or maybe even more top tens, then leave a like & subscribe and remember to check us out later at mmoatk.com

Top Played SMITE Gods (September 2014) | SMITE

What’s up Attackers, Kirk here to bring you another edition of the top played SMITE gods for September 2014. Last month was the first month we did a SMITE list, and based on the amount of views, it seemed you guys liked it. A few responses we got were to have updated footage, which I’ve done. Let me know what other information you’d like on each of the Gods in the list, so I can make the next video even better! Again, these stats are from TierMonster.com and are for the typical Conquest game mode. Let’s jump into the top 10.

At ten is Ymir, the father of the frost gians, this magical melee guardian was ranked 5 last month, so the drop is quite extreme, at about 20% less games played. But that’s not as bad as Nu Wa and Ullr, who was dropped from the list completely.

Athena comes in at nine, another big drop from last month when she was sitting at four. This magical melee guardian was introduced last summer and has continually been a popular choice among players, as the only female guardian in the game.

Loki the Trixter God is here at eight, a slight increase from his last month finish at 10. Loki is a much more popular God when it comes to the Arena as he’s normally played in the top 5. But this months higher finish may signal an increase in picks in future months.

Thanatos comes in at seven here, this is his first mention on our top ten list. Thanatos, a physical melee assassin, was on the free god rotation for a time last month, which may explain his increase in usage, as he hasn’t been touched by an update or nerf in quite some time.

Kukulkan makes his way to our list here with a six place finish. Kukulkan was introduced, or re-worked, or whatever you want to call it, on September 10th, so making the top 10 with only 20 days time shows that he’s been quite popular. Kukulkan is even more popular in the Siege mode, where he’s the second most played god, behind Mercury.

Janus begins the top five as the ranged magical mage makes his first appearance on the list. Janus is an interested selection as there hasn’t been any recent updates or changes to him, and I can’t really find a reason as to why he’s getting picked so often in the past 30 days. If you know why, comment below!

Rama is another new entrant to our list, unranked last month and fourth place in September, this ranged physical hunter is one of the newer gods, being introduced in June of this year has been a popular choice since his debut.

Ra is again at third place as the top three remain unchanged, except for the order. Ra has continually been a top played God since his release in may of 2012, partly because of his price, free, that always helps, and also because of his utility on the battlefield. A heal, a slow, his speed and his incredible damage. Yeah, he’s popular.

Mercury and Apollo trade places this month, with Mercury coming in second place after finishing first last month. Both these gods are known for their high mobility and damage. An interesting thing to note is that both these gods have an extremely high pick rate in Leagues, with Mercury finish first in Joust by a significant margin, and Apollo finishing first in Conquest by a significant amount as well. Apollo holds a 14% lead on Mercury in terms of picks made in normal Conquest, and over 40% higher than Ymir who was ten on the list.

So there’s your top ten most played SMITE gods for Septmeber 2014. Be sure to leave this video a like, a subscribe and stay tuned for more content from us, on a nearly daily basis. Thanks for watching!

Top Played Dota 2 Heroes (June 2014) | Dota 2

Welcome back to another edition of the top played Dota 2 heroes.  This time we’re breaking down June 2014, the start to the build up for the international dota 2 championships, which are coming later this month at the key arena in seattle from July 18th through 21st.   You can hear the excitement in my voice right?  Right?!?!

It will be interesting to see how the qualifiers and the championships effect these rankings, as many players inevitably will start playing heroes they normally wouldn’t, based on what the pros are playing.  Anyways, let’s break down what heroes were the most played for June 2014.

[heading]10. Drow Ranger[/heading]At tenth place this month is Drow Ranger.  Drow slipped a bit this month in both amount of games played, as well as her winning percentage and kill to death ratio, which by the way is one of the lowest in the game at 1.8 kill for every death.  Drow has always been high in this chart and there’s no reason to think she won’t continue to show her beautiful frosty face in the months to come.

[heading]9. Faceless Void[/heading]Faceless Void makes his first appearance since we started doing these videos 4 months ago.  Void has always been a menace in the game, and I’ve definitely notice his appearance more often than not.  He enjoyed a relatively even win rate at just under 52% and about an average kill to death ratio at 2.54.

[heading]8. Riki[/heading]Riki comes in at 8, he’s another hero that has made our top ten list in each month we’ve done it.  He’s down from his low of 5th place of March but enjoys the highest kill to death ratio of anyone in the top ten at 2.92%.  That’s a difficult way to determine his value, as being invis is a HUGE help in ganking and escaping from death.

[heading]7. Axe[/heading]Axe at 7 is another we’ve seen many times on the list.  Makes me wonder why Dota 2 heroes change so infrequently, while League champions, change much more often.  If anyone has any ideas on why that is, leave them in the comments below, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

[heading]6. Phantom Assassin[/heading]Phantom Assassin drops in at number 6.  She first made an appearance last month, after the changes in the Spring Cleaning update.  I had thought that some of her changes, like stifling dagger cooldown reduced and increased evasion chance, made her even more popular than she was before.  Looks like I was right, as she comes down from 9th to 6th place this month.

[heading]5. Bloodseeker[/heading]Next up is Bloodseeker, who has been very steady on this list.  With the last three months looking like, 6, 6, 5 and 5 again, he’s slowly getting played more often not.  However, he’s still almost a million matches played behind breaking into the overplayed 4, who I’ll get into now.

[heading]The Top 4[/heading]The overplayed 4, Mirana, Invoker, Sniper and Pudge, have been the same, in the same order, everytime we’ve done this video.  Like I said earlier, I’d love to hear your thoughts on why you think they never change?  And why League champions change much more frequently.  Pudge and Invokers win rate leave me to wonder why they are played so much, they are both within the bottom third of winning percentage.  People just keep trudging them out there and keep losing.  My thoughts are that people know how powerful these heroes can get if played correctly and/or fed early, but it’s harder than it looks to get done.

Anyways, there’s the list, not much change from last month, 9 of the 10 remain in the list, and 5 of them in the same order.  Leave this video a like, a subscribe and comment below.  Also share if you’re so inclined.  See you guys next month, after The International Championships!
