So let’s say you’re playing your favorite MMO, you’ve
leveled up a few characters and you want to try out that new .. bard class ..
that everyone is talking about.  You
re-roll, pick an awesome new name like, Grangafor and you set out on your
journey.  But, oh god, now you’ve gotta
run through all the newbie quests again, learning the ‘story’ about your
character, killing ten rats, and collecting ten rat butts, like you have for
the past 5 re-rolls.  Never fear though,
Zenimax Online Studios may have the answer to what ails you in The Elder
Scrolls Online.  Now, it’s not confirmed
yet, but some information on a new update has surfaced with some changes on the
PTS server.  The Reddit user found an NPC
that completes all quests, saving you from having to do them every-time you
start a new character.  There are other
changes as well, there always are, you can find them at mmoatk.com.

Now we have a tale of two Kickstarter campaigns.  One, a massive success with millions of
dollars raised, the other, well .. not so much of a success.  OK, so we start with Star Citizen, who took
to Kickstarter back in September 2013 to ask for a measly 500,000 to start up
their space combat and exploration MMO.
As we sit, about 6 months later, the company has just surpassed 39
million dollars.  And no that’s not a
typo.  With the new stretch goal reached,
a brand new star system is being added to the game, which was voted on by you,
the users.  The next stretch goal
however, is the one everyone is talking about, it will give the developers the
tools to utilize a new technology that will allow for entire planets to be
created dynamically, offering an infinite array of possibilities when players
explore the Star Citizen world.  I think
they’ll hit that, don’t you?

Visionary Realms would love to be coming up with stretch
goals when they reach the 39 million dollar range.  And who knows, maybe they will at some point,
but not now.  Pantheon: Rise of the
Fallen, the MMORPG venture by Brad McQuaid, of EverQuest glory, failed to reach
its Kickstarter goal of $800,000.  The
developers removed some restrictions on the campaign to try to reach the goal
on the final day, but alas, came up short.
So what do they do now?  Well, the
team is not giving up on the game, hardly, they will probably try to work
harder now to get the game finished.
They have started up a funding page on their own website, that has the
same tiers and goals as their Kickstarter page.
It’s important to note, if you were one of the original pledges on
Kickstarter, to go pledge again, as your support was not charged.

What’s up Attackers,
Today is Friday February 21st and welcome to your Daily MMO News, exclusively

the sort of problem we can run in to when we do a show every single day!
Today we have the Legend of Silkroad and Eclipse War Online closed beta
announcements.  Your daily XP starts now!

Today, JC Planet
revealed the start date for the closed beta event of Legends of Silkroad.
As the name implies, the game is based during the time of the Silk Road in
ancient Asia.  The closed beta event is scheduled to on February 28th.
The developer listed several key features to the game, most notably, a caravan
battle and escort system, trade war features, large scale guild combat and
more!  If you’re interested in playing the beta, head over to their
official website, JC Planet.com.

In OTHER, closed beta
announcement news today,  Playwith Interactive announced their closed beta
event for the western version of the controversial Korean MMO, Eclipse War
Online.  A teaser site for the game has been released along with a list of
features trying to entice us finicky Westerners with fancy phrases like
‘Exciting new PvP’, ‘An Ever-Changing War of Two races’ and ‘A Living
World’.  The closed beta begins on February 25th and runs through March 11th.
To join the beta all you need is a free account, other than that, there are no
restrictions.  So wait, that sounds more like an open beta right?

I know we usually do
three stories, but like I said, today’s news is dreadfully slow, so let me take
a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Katie, my favorite game is, and
yeah, it’s going to sound cliché, but it’s World of Warcraft,  I’ve been
playing for about 6 years, Elvin Ranger baby!  I’ve also been big into
Minecraft for the last couple of years, I’ve been known to dabble in some
League of Legends,  and of course!  Long walks on the beach.  So
that’s me!

Portalarium today released details
for the Release 3 build of Lord British a.k.a Richard Garriot, a.k.a. the
inventor of the MMORPG as we know it’s upcoming game, Shroud of the Avatar:
Forsaken Virtues.  It was a little over
10 months ago that the game appeared on Kickstarter, and the response thus far
has been overwhelming.  Release 3 brings
a slew of new features including Open Multiplayer, which is HUGE, people have
been waiting on this forever.  Also
you’ll find a skeleton of the crafting features, not really a skeleton mind
you, a third municipality and the ability to sell and purchase items from
in-game stores.  There’s much more, but I
don’t have the time!

Hot on the heels of the biggest Elder
Scrolls Online beta event so far is another video release, this time showcasing
crafting, and more specifically, the journey of a Blacksmith.  The video goes into the great depths of
crafting in TESO, answering questions about gathering mechanics, crafting
tables, and creating set pieces.  Of
note, the world is littered with hidden crafting tables that offer potential
set bonuses and perks.  So there’s yet
another reason to climb to the top of every mountain, and peak inside every
cave that’s off the beaten path, much like you already do in Skyrim.

And lastly a new server has been
launched for Dragon’s Call II.  The
end.  OK so, outro now right?  No, you need to say at least another few
sentences.  UGGHHH.  OK umm .. The fifth server, called Bleeding
Dragon launches later today, it will be accompanied by several events in game,
so go check it out!  better?

Hello
Attackers, It’s Bethany here on Wednesday February 19th coming to you with your
daily xp from mmoatk.com. I’m wearing a giant black orc
cloak that you can’t see, but you’re just going to have to believe me. Today we
have a dose of makeovers to both of the smoldering faces of our SMITE god Agni.
Runescape is making us all look like dicks with their awesome charity events,
and PS4 beta testing for Fanal Fantasy 14: A realm reborn is about to be
underway. Your daily XP starts now!

SMITE
players! Our favorite two-faced arsonist has gotten a complete makeover this
week. That’s right, he’s is our guy Agni, the god of fire, and his
changes include brand
new models, animations, 2D Art and FX for a selection of his more popular
skins. There
have also been some changes made to the recovery time of his more powerful
abilities to allow players with higher ping to still execute his more difficult
combos. Along with this current tradition of weeklyWednesday updates
for SMITE, an experimental kind of item tree has been added. A new selection of
items will allow players to take multiple items from the same tree but not the
same tier. This means huge changes for the likes of Qin’s Blades and the
Executioner, in essence giving players stats from multiple items but in a
single slot. There is a link to the rest of the patch notes in our mmoatk.com article.

Alright, so
for this next story I’ll try to set my undying cynicism to the side because
it’s actually some pretty awesome stuff. The developers at Runescape today
announced yet another charity event that will see the Runescape community
coming together for their inaugural GameBlast. This news follows recent charity
events that have seen the Runescape community taking advantage of the recently
released Runescape Bonds system, allowing
players to trade real cash for in-game currency without the risk of third-party
vendors. This latest charity event will once again allow players to donate
their in-game earnings with Jagex, promising to convert these donations into
real-world cash to do some real-life nice stuff. There
will be a double experience points weekend, exciting events, and dozens of
livestreams, all in the aid for charity. High five.

Square Enix
announced today that current players of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn are
now able to download the free PS4 open beta client ahead of this week’s test.
The beta testing event goes underway this Saturday, February 22nd, and
is expected to run for the entire week. Characters created during the beta
event cannot level past 20, and character information will be wiped when it’s
all done and through.  It’s currently unclear whether or not PlayStation 3
players will be able to transfer their characters over to the PlayStation 4
version prior to official release, but don’t get your hopes up. PS3 fans are
stoked of the additional power available to the PS4, making the experience of
sometimes fighting invisible foes and ducking invisible blows to your
vulnerable character’s sweet face hopefully go away. PS3 players, upgrade to
the PS4 version free of charge.
