F.E.A.R. Online

F.E.A.R. Online (FEAR) is an upcoming MMOFPS from Aeria Games, currently under development by Inplay Interactive. Expect the same kind of suspense and horror from the previous FEAR titles in F.E.A.R. online, especially thanks to the eerie atmosphere and immersive maps.

FEAR will feature a 4 player co-op option along with the traditional demolition and deathmatch game modes. The acclaimed Soul King mode will also make its triumphant return following its previous success. Look for the Beta coming soon!

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a Fantasy MMORPG developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. Set in the Warcraft universe, World of Warcraft takes place on the world of Azeroth. It currently features four expansions; The Burning Crusade, Wrath of Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria. Over seven million people have subscribed to World of Warcraft, making it the largest MMORPG ever released.

Players can chose from two factions in World of Warcraft; the Horde and the Alliance. The Horde (aka the “bad guys”) is made up of Orcs, Trolls, the Undead, the Tauren, Blood Elves and Goblins. The Alliance (aka the “good guys”) is comprised of Night Elves, Humans, Dwarves, the Draenei, the Worgen and Gnomes. A new race, the Pandaren, are free to chose either faction. Each race has a certain number of classes it can play that tailor to that race’s natural attributes.

WoW has a tremendous team focus, especially at higher levels, relying on the “holy trifecta” (tank, healer, DPS) to take down large dungeons and bosses. If you’re interested in solo play, WoW boasts the largest amount of quests and expansions ever released.

Urban Galaxy

Urban Galaxy is a browser based (HTML5) 3D MMORPG currently under development by Bubblebean. Urban Galaxy takes place on the capital city of Anassin, located on planet Cotricob. Players may choose from 3 different classes: the smuggler, carrier, or mercenary. You must pilot your ship around neighborhoods taking on quests and missions, fighting gangs and pirates, as well as corporations vying for control of the market.

Each player class has its own unique features with multiple skills and upgrades to chose from and advance their classes through the main story. Urban Galaxy also features Dynamic Events such as territory control. The game has been made accessible to most computers thanks to the low hardware requirements.

Awakening of Heroes

Awakening of Heroes (AoH) is a fantasy MOBA currently under development by Serbian video game developer COFA games. The game begs the question, “what if ordinary people were heroic?” and throws you into a world where the mundane becomes extraordinary. Very quickly will you realize that you’re not there to save the world, you’re there to save your place in it.

Awakening of Heroes will be very similar in style to League of Legends and DOTA. It will feature two bases (on the lower left and top right corner) equipped with healing wells, barracks, inhibitors, and towers, connected by lanes and surrounded by a jungle. As of right now, there are 4 characters available in alpha testing: an old lady, a schoolboy, a butcher, and a chick with a whip.

AoH will allow players to invite their friends to join the fun through the use of their social media button. A really special feature found in the game is its compatibility with the Oculus Rift. This allows spectators to observe matches in real-time, vertically scaled, 3D.

Heroes and Generals

Heroes and Generals is a free to play MMO First Person Shooter with a strategic multiplayer campaign that takes place during World War II. In the game players choose between fighting as the Heroes, which pits you into the trenches and the battlefields, or as a General which has you managing the battlefield and the units from afar.

The game can be accessed continuously using a cross-platform approach. Windows, iOS and Android devices support the game, which results in continuous action across the battlefield. Each conflict takes place through contested cities, factories and airfields on a strategic map.

The main component of the game is the First Person Shooter element, where players are put straight into the battlefield where you can use a variety of character, weapons and vehicles to take out the enemy. When you’re unable to use your PC for the FPS element, you can download the app, Heroes and Generals: Mobile Command, and use the strategic element to command players or entire groups into combat, while managing resources and securing key locations on the map.

Deep Silver recently announced the beginning of the closed
beta sign-ups for its upcoming zombie-themed MOBA game based on the Dead Island
Franchise, Dead Island Epidemic.  The
game was first announced in August of last year, but we’ve seen very little
from the developer since then. 
Apparently the Alpha test went well so they are ready to bring min more
players to help make Epidemic the best possible ZOMBA, Zombie MOBA,
possible.  With a promise of fast-paced
action driven combat where players battle it out for control of vital supply
points, the Dead Island MOBA is one I am looking forward to.

I guess the popular thing nowadays is to sell alpha access
to your game, and roll in the cash.  At
least that’s what it seems like with the critical success of both the DayZ
Standalone’s alpha and now Rust, who reached one million in sales.  A twitter post from the creator, Garry Newman
revealed that Rust hit 1 million units sold since its release in December.  Which got me thinking.  Do you guys like the fact that games are
releasing and selling Alpha access to the public?  Have you bought DayZ or Rust or EverQuest
Next Landmark or any of the other games selling Alpha access?  Let me know below!

And lastly, one of our fans finally sent us some news!  We’ve been advertising to you for weeks that
we don’t know everything going on in the MMO world, so please send us any
stories.  MMO Serbia let us know that a
new game from a Serbian Developer, of course, has begun asking for players to
register for Alpha keys.  Awakening of
Heroes, a MOBA game in which a bunch of ordinary folks become heroes is asking
for Alpha sign-ups on its website.  What
do we know about the game?  Well, there’s
not much, a Video is coming soon and there is some info on a few of the heroes
of the game, which include a grandma, a schoolboy, a butcher and a chick with a
whip.  Check out awakening of heroes.com.
