Here at MMO Attack we love games. It’s what we do. We eat, drink, breathe, and sleep gaming. We’re always on the look out for the next big thing so we can give our audience the rundown. And, yes, also because we’d be playing them anyway. That’s why we put together our MMO Games list. Here you will find links to pages filled with some of the very best games out today. You’ll find games of all types too: MMOs, adventure games, strategy games and literally everything in between.

There are a number of reasons why we put together these pages. First, we want them to become a valuable resource for gamers to help them do what they do best–play. But we also wanted to signal that the the gaming industry is growing and changing. Most of the games you find here, whether they’re MMOs, MOBAs, Browser or console based–will be free-to-play and incredibly accessible. Afterall, you don’t need to drop $60 to gain entry to a decent game. In fact, the gaming industry is becoming more agile and inclusive for gamers all over the world.

And despite many of the games listed here being completely free-to-play, you’ll still find some of the most inventive and enthralling games on the market today. Take League of Angels II for example. League of Angels is a franchise that’s constantly pushing the boundaries of how a browser MMO can be defined, as well as what they’re capable of. You’ll see a similar approach to game design in Paladins, a hero shooter for PC and next gen consoles by Hi-Rez, the company behind SMITE. Paladins is a unique and fun entry to a genre that’s been blowing up since the release of Overwatch. And like League of Angels, it too is completely free to play.

Dizzel

Dizzel is a hardcore action shooter developed by Neowiz and NS Studio. Set in the not too distant future, Dizzel features non-stop, heart-pumping action through a variety of unique maps and game modes. Resembling the over-the-shoulder shooter style of Gears of War, Dizzel bolsters a variety of powerful weapons, from assault rifles and shotguns to massive swords and axes, to slay your enemies. Combined with a variety of skills, weapons, gear and power ups that can be unlocked by player progression, the bloodthirsty soldiers of Dizzel leave a trail of carnage and bodies in their wake.

Once ready for battle, Dizzel features exciting unique game modes to unleash your onslaught of destruction, such as Annihilation, where the players take turns hunting down their foes as mechanized war machines. These killer sentinels know no mercy as they laugh at your attempts to destroy them with mere bullets while chopping you in two with their mighty war axe or combat blade. For the more traditional shooter fans, Dizzel comes equipped with a standard array of other game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Demolition as well. Divine Souls

Divergence Online

Divergence online (DO) is a third person shooter and Sci-Fi MMORPG that is currently under development. The game recently launched a successful crowd-funding campaign lead by head developer Ethan Casner and Stainglass Llama Studios to receive funding for continued production. Ethan recently announced that DO will be a box title, meaning there will be a purchase price and a potential subscription model instead of a micro-transaction business model.

Divergence will feature a “hardcore” sandbox environment where player freedom is the main priority. The PvP system will be true to hardcore in that there will be open PvP at all times, anywhere in the world without exception, as well as potential for permanent death. The sandbox feature will allow for terrain modification such as raising, lowering and leveling, planting and farming, and gathering of natural resources or raw materials. There are four “Genomes” to chose from–humans, Veli, Lokri, and AI– with each respective genome having its own subdivisions of breeds.

District 187 is a first person shooter by CJ Games Global.  The game is set at the end of the 21st century after the collapse of the world economy.  As the world turns to chaos money means everything and the wealthiest survivors control the world power.  The government is no match for the wealthy citizens and constant fights and wars are breaking out in cities all across the globe.

In District 187 there are two main factions that compete for territory.  The game offers one of the most developed guild systems in any FPS.  You and your friends can create or join guilds in order to compete in special clan vs clan matches.  There are many achievements and missions to unlock daily, which help increase your rank and awards for completing them.  Clans (guilds) can also claim streets in the city which will give your clan bonuses.  But remember, there’s always another clan that’s trying to get your territory!

In Disney’s Ghosts of Mistwood, your beloved Aunt Virginia has been kidnapped, and she needs your help! The Dark Spirit has hidden her somewhere on your family’s haunted estate, and there’s only one way to find her: travel to New Orleans and start investigating! Embark on your search for clues by helping Mistwood’s ghostly residents restore the Mistwood family estate to its former glory.

You’ll need help on your quest! Craft potions to free Aunt Virginia’s friends and family from The Dark Spirit, explore the estate’s foggy borders to solve mysteries, and decorate the estate so it’s ready for your aunt’s return in Disney’s Ghosts of Mistwood.

Devilian

In Devilian, players will play as half-devil heroes and battle to save the world from a fallen god as they experience fast-paced, visceral action combined with crafting, quests, trading, mounts, guilds, dungeons and more in the ultimate MMO-ARPG combined experience.

Trion Worlds has partnered with Bluehole Ginno Games to bring Devilian to players in North America and Europe. The game is currently undergoing an intense localization effort to get the game ready in English, French and German before launch.

Destiny

Destiny is a highly anticipated first-person, Sci-Fi, shooter MMO developed by Bungie. It will be releasing for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 9, 2014. It is set hundreds of years in the future during a Golden Age where humans have spread throughout the universe and colonized different planets. A sudden “Collapse” causes tremendous chaos and leaves humanity in an isolated city. You must take on the role of defender and save your people from a violent alien race that threatens your already fragile existence.

Destiny will be set in an open world with a highly interactive environment. It will not be modeled after the traditional MMOs, instead it has been labeled as a “shared-world shooter.” The new Umbra 3 engine and updates to the matchmaking system will make this game unlike anything you’ve seen before. Bungie will also be incorporating Social media into Destiny, allowing players to stay attuned to living universe in Destiny as it will always be changing.

Keep an eye out for the beta as it is rumored to be launching sometime this summer!

Desert Operations

Desert Operations is a browser based game with a modern-warfare theme in which players battle for resources and glory while boosting their political influence, create alliances and wage war. The game was developed by Playzo GmbH and there are four types of units available in game:

Infantry ? cheap and fast to produce, but have weak attack and defense values. With the exception of Navy Seals. Vehicles ? have increased attack and defense, but they are vulnerable against air attacks. Air units ? have a high penetration score, but they have a low deployment time. Water units ? they inflict great damage and have average fixed cost, but they are very expensive in research and purchasing.

In Desert Operation there are three different types of buildings which can be constructed: production buildings, military buildings and action buildings. Each building can be upgraded to increase the bonuses that it offers. The gameplay can be improved or sped up with the help of premium packages that offer instant buildings, special weapons, better weather and other features in exchange of Diamonds.

Desert Operation offers players many possibilities in creating their own country and defending it from other players. It is a good military strategy game that will keep players glued to the computer as they try to better plan the evolution of their country.

Demon Crusade

Demon Crusade is a new F2P Browser Fantasy MMORPG, currently in development by NGames and hosted by Game321. Demon Crusade is a 2D, side-scrolling experience which merges both Eastern and Western culture, creating a devilish adventure to protect the Demon Temple from its imminent destruction. Players can look forward to ancient myths, lost mechanical civilizations, whimsical mounts, smooth combat and more as they quest to become the savior the the underworld.

Users in Demon Crusade will play as one of three classes, either the Warrior, the Mage or the Ranger and will fight along side a powerful partners. Equipment and weapon looting and upgrading will play an important role in deciding success on the battlefield. Those brave enough can even go head-to-head in the PvP Arena, adventure to Sky City, challenge the multiplayer Devil King Instance or even hunt Dream Beasts to find new mounts and collect food to feed them.

In addition to all the exciting gameplay elements in this F2P Browser MMO, players will be able to own their own customizable home, each coming complete with a witch assistant to help. Your personal witch will tend to all your home’s necessities while you’re out adventuring and can be trained to master new house-centric skills!

Defiance

Defiance is a third-person sci-fi shooter MMO by Trion Worlds based on the Syfy television series of the same name. It released on April 2, 2013, and is available on PC, PS3, Xbox 360. The game is set in the San Francisco Bay area, following a war between Humans and rogue extraterrestrials known as Votans.

Defiance has five different DLCs planned for release, with Castithan Charge Pack and Arkbreaker already available for sale. Defiance is loaded with dynamic events, main story missions, side quests and challenges. Players are given a large amount of control over character appearance. There are no pure classes, you must chose an “Origin” and fill the role of either Veterans, Outlaws, Machinists, or Survivalists. Veterans and Outlaws are survivors of The Pale Wars who roam the land and seek opportunity. Machinists focus on scavenging, while Survivalists are simply trying to get by.

You don’t have to be a fan of the show to like this game. Check it out through Steam or play it on your console for some good ol’ third person shooting.

[/review]Deadbreed is a newly announced MOBA game from a group of Swedish game developers that have taken it upon themselves to expand the MOBA genre with a game that is darker, more hardcore and has unprecedented hero customization and RPG features. Dead Frontier

Welcome to the dead frontier. Caused by a pharmaceutical drug gone wrong, the world is left in a state of chaos with few survivors. It is now up to the players to work together or individually to survive the zombie apocalypse and preserve the human race.

Players customize their avatar through the selection of a profession (class) which can range from Police Officer (stat-boost class) to Scientist (production class) and so much more.  From there it will be up to the player to work alone or as a group to traverse Fairview City to complete a wide variety of missions. Besides a zombie outbreak, players must also contend with the clans that dominate the city — some out to help, others out to harm. Outposts are scattered throughout the city to act as safe houses to take a break or to do some business.

Dead Frontier is a free-to-play browser based MMORPG that features top-down gameplay with fully 3D graphics that serve to heighten the tension. Players can expect a steep learning curve and plenty of deaths to begin with, but experience gained from killing zombies levels up players quickly. Those willing to push through will find an extremely enjoyable survival experience that offers a nice change of pace from other MMO worlds.

DDTank

DDTank is an MMO shooter game that is very similar to the Worms games. You are placed on a map with up to 4 players and will battle it out in turn based action. The game is playable right on your browser so there is no need to download anything, just sign up and play.

The gameplay is quite easy to get the hang of, but takes some time to master. There is a great deal of strategy involved in becoming a master at the game which makes for some very fun strategizing while learning to get the hang of it. Multiple game modes and tons of weapons make DDTank a very enjoyable casual style game. Matches can be completed fairly quickly so there’s no need to schedule a ton of time to get in some fun MMO shooter action.

In addition to the PvP element you are also given various tasks throughout the game which adds a slight RPG flavor to it.

DayZ, a free mod for Arma 2 developed by Dean Hall aka Rocket and published by Bohemia Interactive, is a realistic post apocalyptic survival MMO simulator. The game received quite a large following from the spread of word of mouth from fans. The game knows how to portray the problems in our society by making players interact in a real way. It is not uncommon to see players yelling at each other in the chat, arguing over who is friendly or not.

Although zombies are populated all over the map, they are not the real danger. You work against the elements like a real person. Managing your hunger and health while at the same time managing your sanity against other people doesn?t sound like fun, but somehow is. Jumping off an incline or falling down a ledge are all serious obstacles as you could break your leg and render yourself useless. The feeling of alone and helplessness makes this game something truly special.

Another thing that makes DayZ interacts with people is the scarcity of items. Players will have to scrounge around for anything they can find. Cans of coke become like gold when the player desperately needs something to quench their thirst. After digging into the game though, you start to realize that the world is much more fleshed out than it appears. Players can scrounge together parts for vehicles like cars, trucks, helicopters and others to dominate a DayZ map. That is, if you survive grabbing these pieces.

DayZ is still a free mod for Arma 2. However, there will be a standalone title that will be available soon. This game is a blast to play with some friends or by yourself and is a must play for the zombie fan. Drop into the game today with the link above and test out your survivability.

Dawngate

Dawngate is a top-view MOBA currently under development by Waystone Games. There will be two bases, one on the bottom left corner and another in the top right. Three lanes will lead minions and champions from on base to another. Kill the minions passing through your assigned lane and work with your teammates to infiltrate the enemy base.

There is not much information currently available regarding the game’s development and release.
