Last weeks rumors surrounding a potential buyout of Mojang by corporate giants Microsoft were confirmed this week followed by a shock announcement from the founder Markus “Notch” Persson.
If recent rumors are to be believed a giant offer could be on the table for the development studio behind the multi-award winning Minecraft. Rumors followed a post on the Wall Street Journal which instantly gave it a level of credit rarely obtained through posting on traditional gaming outlets.

Looking for a game that’s like Minecraft, but it’s not Minecraft? Or maybe just something like Minecraft that’s free?
A few days ago we told you that the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft easily broke many sales records after being released for 24 hours. Well, there’s more news on that front, Microsoft has just announced that Minecraft for the Xbox 360 has managed to shatter all previous sales records for Xbox LIVE Arcade games and has already amassed over one million copies since its release last May 9.
The Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition was released on yesterday and easily broke many sales records according to statements from Microsoft and Mojang’s Notch on Thursday.
Mojang’s number one seller, Minecraft, will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade on May 9th for the small fee of 1600 Microsoft Points. In a Publication by Larry Hryb, the Director of Programming for Xbox Live, the game has been confirmed to release this May.
