The Hearthstone US Open Beta begins today as one of the most
highly sought after closed beta events in history comes to an end.  How can I make this claim?  Well, the over $134,000 made from selling
Hearthstone closed beta keys on eBay helps. 
So yes, beginning today, anyone in the US can sign up for and play highly
anticipated trading card game from Blizzard. 
A warning has been issued because of the anticipated influx of new players.  It is also helpful to note that there will be
no more wipes, so players are free to amass as many new cards as possibly,
without fear of losing them.  Have fun!

The latest champion to join Infinite Crisis is coming, and
it’s none other than Superman.  Now, I can’t’
be the only one surprised that Superman wasn’t in the original starting
line-up, but I guess they had to make you anticipate something.  In Infinite Crisis Superman will excel at
initiating and finishing team fights. 
His skills include him spitting ice into your eyes to slow you down, and
shooting lasers from your eyes to deal damage and knock the enemy back.  These are two skills that I had no idea
Superman had, but of course, he is Superman so, anything is possible.

The next big patch for Age of Wushu is due out next month
and Snail Games has released a small preview on their site to get players
excited about the new update.  So what
should we expect?  Well, the new Dragon
and Tiger Tournament will feature a series of one-on-one duels, with the
winners receive manuals, skills and pills. 
There’s also the fourth internal skill unlock, which should give you
more edge in battle, and additional school lessons.  I’m sure there’s more, but the teaser only
gave us so much!

Bit surprise from the DayZ camp, the next update has been
delayed!  They should change the name to Delayed
Z, amiright?  Just kidding, I stole that
from one of the comments.  Anyways, the
latest update that went live yesterday was scrapped at the last minute because
of a bug that made players unable to loot corpses.  That’s kind of a big deal in this game if you
didn’t know.  The team hopes to fix the update
soon, which will bring a number of other fixes and adjustments including the
addition of some much anticipated items like the Shotgun, Hacksaw and the new
harbor town Svetloyarsk.

Today Square Enix announced a preview event for the upcoming
2.2 update in A Realm Reborn.  The
previous update that included player housing and end-game content might be
tough to follow up but the team has scheduled a special live video event for
January 25th to focus on the release. 
Among the things we can expect are ‘The Coming of Leviathan’ primal
event and additional details on the PlayStation 4 release.  If you care to wake up at 4AM PST this
Saturday, you too can be the first to hear the details!

 Facepunch Studios
founder Garry Newman has a lot to celebrate following the successful Early
Access launch of Rust.  According to the
developer, Rust has earned over half of the revenue that his first title,
Garry’s Mod, has earned in the past 9 years. 
To put that in perspective, Rust has been on Steam’s Early Access for just
over a month.  What is Rust?  Rust is an Indie RPG game where your only aim
is to survive.

Hello Summoners and Welcome to MMO ATK’s League of Legends Bot Lane Synergies.  We are your hosts, Ashley and TJ.  On Today’s Episode we’re covering the CC heavy kite-queens Ashe and Zyra.  Ashe and Zyra were made popular by Cloud 9 last year with great success, by dominating bot lane on several occassions.
Ashe is the queen of slows, with no escape but has incredible kite potential. Her late game can carry the team to victory, not to mention that she’s the only AD Carry with a 3.5 second stun.  Which is awesome in many situations!  Zyra also has incredible CC to complement Ashe’s kiting.  She has a long range snare with plants that slow.  Her ultimate has the ability to zone the whole team, while knocking them up simultaneously.  
Together Ashe and Zyra have extreme in-lane poke potential, with the ability to peel off the jungler from ganking.  With Ashe’s hawk shot and Zyra’s seed they have complete bot lane vision control, even without wards.  In-team fights they can control the tide of battle with their CC, allowing their team to take the advantage.

Following the latest update to Blizzard’s Hearthstone, lead
designer Eric Dodds took to the official website to explain how they are
tackling card balancing.  Balance is
incredibly important in the world of MMOs, but especially in the trading card
genre, as the cards represent 100% of in-game mechanics.  Of the most interesting points in the post
are the nerfing of the one turn kill cards, changing of the mana rules and
slight changes to cards that many considered overpowered.

Mounted combat is finally upon us in SOE’s Dragon’s
Prophet.  The latest trailer shows off
just how mounted combat works, and shows incredible action shots of both on
ground and in-air combat.  Now, mounted
combat in MMOs is not a new thing,  you
can find it in Lord of the Rings Online, but it’s definitely a step in the
right direction in immersion for a game that’s all about your dragon.  Additional updates in Dragon’s Prophet
include a new legendary dungeon, new bosses and more!

The latest edition of The Old Republic Insider offers a
behind the scenes look at the latest Galactic Starfighter update, the Kuat
Drive Yard Flashpoint Missions, as well as the next round of Cartel Market
Items coming to Star Wars the Old Republic.

The new God Geb was introduced in SMITE.  Geb is from the Egyptian Pantheon and is
nicknamed the God of the Earth.   Geb is a tank, whose goal is to soak up damage
for your team, while always causing nasty damage and stunning opponents around
him.  In addition to Geb the Arena Mode
was updated to include a two map rotation, and new skins were released for Hel
and Ah Muzen Cab.  Today’s SMITE patch,
well actually pretty much every SMITE patch, includes a ton of other general
bug fixes and updates, and those of you who get off on that stuff can visit the
article linked below for more details.

Snail Games introduced a new class for their upcoming
steampunk fantasy MMORPG Black Gold Online. 
Spellswords the Dexterous Enchanter lives out the ambitious dreaming of
both wielding devastating sorcery and exceptional swordplay.  This enchanter class is actually a melee DPS
/ agility tank who uses a one handed sword, a shield and quick casting
spells.  He or She is more agile than the
standard mage and better suited for spell-weaving than a traditional
warrior.  Think Diablo III Demon Hunter,
with a sword.

Finally the Doctor Who MMO has run out of regenerations.  The free to play Doctor Who MMO is closing
down, and if you’re surprised by this news, it’s probably because you didn’t
know such a game existed.  Doctor Who:
Worlds in Time was first announced in February 2011 and launched in March 2012
only to cease operations this February 28th. 
Microtransactions have already been suspended and .. yeah .. not much
else to say about that.
