It’s not every day that you come across a game with a squishy pink raid boss, pets that poop on command , a Meiji-era castle full of evil ninja, and a haunted mansion that fills up with quests every Halloween, but MapleStory, Nexon America’s free-to-play side-scrolling MMORPG, offers all of that and more.

The adventure begins when you select your class. You pick from a hodgepodge of seemingly random characters, like a time-traveling samurai and a magical girl who can transform into a super hero (complete with theme song and catchphrase). Each character has a unique combat system and back story, but they’re all tied together by a common goal: to stop the Black Mage, the source of all evil in Maple World.

You’ll spend a good chunk of time perfecting your character’s looks and we don’t just mean equipment (though there are several robust systems that allow you to fine-tune your gear). We’re talking demon wings, duck pajamas, bell bottoms, pancake hats, briefcases, headphones, and hundreds of other items that let you create an in-game persona. Goodgame Empire is a browser base castle building game where you build things in real-time.  Graphics are cartoony and easy on the eyes.  The interface may be a little clunky, but most of the basic stuff is easy and intuitive to use.  The main objectives of the game is to accumulate resources such as wood, stone and food over time and then spend this building stuff and feeding your population and army.  There is some limited functionality for sending resources to others and therefore trading.  Goodgame Studios have also recently introduced outposts, which are like mini castles you can capture and build up from scratch.

In the game you receive quests, which are the only way to get experience, and they direct you to build certain building.  Gaining experience means gaining levels.  Gaining levels means more types of building and better soldiers to recruit.  Besides building stuff you also recruit armies and build siege equipment.  This means you can make use of this for attacking other players.  The combat itself is automatically resolved, but the setup and combat reports are complex enough to be interesting without being daunting.  Beating up other players gives you honor which will increase your ranking in the game as you gain more of it.

PangYa: United is a new version of the PangYa sports MMO game series developed by Ntreev Soft out of Korea. PangYa is a free mmo game that combines cute anime characters with a fun, easy to play golfing adventure. Gameplay is pretty straightforward for an online golfing game, but PangYa manages to reward players for better shots and provides a low learning curve so players can hop in and play instantly.

Power and accuracy of your golf shot are determined by how well you can manipulate the power meter with three clicks. The first click activates the meter’s bar, the second click sets the power level, and the third click determines the accuracy of your shot. Players have the option of clicking on the meter or by just using the spacebar. We found that the spacebar was easiest to assess the different levels of shot performance, as it was easier to hover over and had a quicker response time than a mouse. Although, we were using a bluetooth wireless mouse at the time, so there might be some latency issues there, a nice corded mouse (Razer?) will probably perform much better.

This game is a huge hit in Korea and Japan, and they have just started expanding their servers here to North America, so jump in and enjoy a fun online golf game!

Cabal Online is a free-to-play, 3D massively-multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), developed by South Korean company ESTsoft. The game takes place in a mythical world known as Nevareth, which was destroyed by an evil entity known as the CABAL. Out of the survivors, six “Masters” rose up, each wielding the abilities of the “Force Power”. These masters taught the people, and Nevareth was rebuilt. Years later, the CABAL is plotting a return to power, and the characters of the game take up the role of heroes who battle the CABAL uprising and conspiracy.

Although Cabal Online is free-to-play, the game has a “Cash Shop” which allows players to purchase game enhancements and useful ingame items using real currency.

Warrior – As the name applies, the ?warrior? is the standard tank / melee character. The warrior relies entirely on his strength and uses the two handed sword as his main weapon.

Wizard – The Wizard is the standard offensive spell caster archetype in Cabal. They can deal massive damage from a distance but are vulnerable to attacks in melee range. They have the lowest hit points in the game.

Force Shielder – Force Shielders are the standard ?tank? archetype in Cabal, they have the best defensive capabilities, but relatively weaker damage than the other melee classes in the game. They are capable of using both defensive and offensive magic and are considered strong ?PvE? characters.

World of Tanks is a 3D, team-based MMO shooter where players take control of mid-20th century era fighting tanks.  Gameplay in World of Tanks requires a lot of teamwork and strategy.  There are over a hundred completely unique tanks to choose from and up to sixty players per battle.  World of Tanks offers tactical gameplay and conflicts of epic proportions.

In World of Tanks, you are put in command of your very own World War 2 era battle tank.  WoT is a team-based game where two sides of up to thirty players each compete to destroy all opposing vehicles.  The many combat vehicles in the game are modeled after American, German, Soviet and British designs.  The game offers an in-depth gaming experience that is sure to get your blood pumping.

The tank-based shooter is developed by Wargaming.net, a Russian studio behind several other historically themed video games.  World of Tanks is their first free-to-play title, and they?ve come in swinging strong.  World of Tanks boasts great graphics, ease of play, and plenty of customization features.  The publishers promise a historically accurate setting and action-oriented gameplay.  RPG elements also make an appearance, as players will be able to upgrade their tanks with new parts and crew members.  New recruits start with a light German or Soviet tank, but after accumulating experience and credits, they will be able to upgrade to heavier models.  Additionally, it will be possible to upgrade individual parts such as turrets, chassis, engines, guns, radios, and ammunition types.

“A World torn apart by war, that is the truth of the early 20th Century. Nations tear each other apart and entire generations of men are sent into battle in a variety of war-machines to kill or be killed.  In 1941, Operation Gamma changed the war forever.

After nearly two years of bitter fighting, more and more countries were sucked into the wake of the war. The League of Nations, which had unsuccessfully worked to uphold peace since the last World War, watches helplessly as the Axis Forces and the Free Allies wage war on an unprecedented scale.

In a last attempt to stop the madness, the League’s head, Richard P. Ward, invites all the warring nation?s leaders to a final conference in Geneva.

With their troops evenly matched, and neither side able to gain a decisive victory, the leaders follow Ward?s call. The hint of a secret that would change the war and the chance to eye-up the competition was enough to bring them all together, for nobody dared to miss out. The world held its breath for a moment, could a path to peace be on the horizon?

Then came OG-Day… Everything changed that fateful day. As the radio transmission of the conference started, silence fell across the lands and battlefields alike. But something wasn?t right. There was only static noise coming from the radio, followed by otherworldly wails and screams. Then a hoarse whisper, a warning: “Gamma is coming”  When the first airplanes arrived at Geneva, they found a burning city.  In 1941, the world was left devoid of its leaders.”

During the first days of chaos, some Commanders of the Free Allies saw their chance to take cities deep within mainland Europe. They pushed forward well into enemy territory in the hope that soon leadership would be restored and they would be honoured for their courage. But soon it became apparent, that neither orders nor backup would ever come again. Now caught between enemy forces, each of them struggles to establish a bastion of democracy and freedom.
Axis Forces
Ever marching onwards, Commanders of the Axis forced their way into the world. Devoid of new orders, they pushed further and further into enemy territory, using the chaos to conquer as many cities as they could. Drawn forward by their success, they had neglected to defend their own homeland. When the first Commanders came to their senses, they found themselves encircled by enemies and even their homeland partly occupied. Now they are establishing footholds to maybe one day retake what once was theirs.
