Here at MMO Attack we love games. It’s what we do. We eat, drink, breathe, and sleep gaming. We’re always on the look out for the next big thing so we can give our audience the rundown. And, yes, also because we’d be playing them anyway. That’s why we put together our MMO Games list. Here you will find links to pages filled with some of the very best games out today. You’ll find games of all types too: MMOs, adventure games, strategy games and literally everything in between.

There are a number of reasons why we put together these pages. First, we want them to become a valuable resource for gamers to help them do what they do best–play. But we also wanted to signal that the the gaming industry is growing and changing. Most of the games you find here, whether they’re MMOs, MOBAs, Browser or console based–will be free-to-play and incredibly accessible. Afterall, you don’t need to drop $60 to gain entry to a decent game. In fact, the gaming industry is becoming more agile and inclusive for gamers all over the world.

And despite many of the games listed here being completely free-to-play, you’ll still find some of the most inventive and enthralling games on the market today. Take League of Angels II for example. League of Angels is a franchise that’s constantly pushing the boundaries of how a browser MMO can be defined, as well as what they’re capable of. You’ll see a similar approach to game design in Paladins, a hero shooter for PC and next gen consoles by Hi-Rez, the company behind SMITE. Paladins is a unique and fun entry to a genre that’s been blowing up since the release of Overwatch. And like League of Angels, it too is completely free to play.

League of Legends

January 13, 2013 – League of Legends (LoL for short), is a 3D fantasy MOBA by Riot Games where players choose from one of many champions and fight it out in PvP battles against their enemies. Each individual ?game? or ?match? doesn?t take place in a persistent world, players earn experience points for winning matches, which can be used to permanently improve attributes in all future games. League of Legends is actually very similar to a popular Warcraft 3 mod called DotA (Defense of the Ancients).

Players take on the role of hero characters, leading an army to the enemy player?s base to destroy their fortifications and armies. It takes the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre and gives it more action.  During each game, players will have approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds to select a champion, two summoner spells, and some runes. League of Legends currently has well over 60 playable heroes, each of which are distinctly different. Each of the heroes has 4 unique skills, of which 1 is an ultimate, as well as a unique passive ability.

The heroes are actually incredibly balanced, and even the 8 beginner champions, which are fairly ?easy? to play, aren?t at all ?under powered? or anything like that. After playing a few matches with the recommended characters, players should try out other champions as well, because the best way to really master League of Legends is to learn every champion?s skills. Memorizing every champion?s skills may seem a bit nerve wracking at first, but you will get the hang of it, as just by playing the game regularly players will learn on their own what each hero is capable of. Of the game?s many playable heroes, most of them won?t be available to newbies, as they have to purchased in the game?s store with the ?influence points? earned from playing and winning matches.

The more matches a player wins in League of Legends ? the more experience their champion gains. Every level yields a single mastery point, which can then be spent in the ?masteries? tab. Masteries are passive enhancements which will enhance a champion?s attributes in every single game. The masteries work a lot like the ?talent? points in World of Warcraft and Runes of Magic, but they are ?account wide?, so it doesn?t matter which champion you select; you?ll always receive these bonuses. The three skill trees in the masteries tab are Offense, Defense and Utility.

League of Legends is popular in the eSports realm, becoming a major game in MLG (Major League Gaming) professional play.

Pros: Many characters to play, Good support, Flawless PvP.

Cons: None I can think of!

League of Angels II is the next flagship title in GTArcade’s original League of Angels franchise. The previous League of Angels titles have both achieved worldwide success. The first LoA is still played in over 150 countries and received numerous awards such as Facebook’s Best New Game in 2014 and MMOsite’s Best Browser Game in 2015. LoA – Fire Raiders was named Best Mobile RPG in 2015 and has topped mobile charts all around the world.

In development for 2 years, every aspect of League of Angels II has been designed to push the limits of next gen browser games. The game sends out a clear message that The Angels Have Transcended to players around the globe. North America is the first stop in League of Angels II’s global journey, but far from the last! League of Angels is a browser-based fantasy MMORPG from GTArcade where you will battle the forces of evil, with Angels by your side. In the game you act as one of the few that stand up to the evil forces of Suurde, while you seek to restore the power that the ‘Angels’ once had. Saving the Angels is only one part of your goal, as you attempt to defeat the evil in the land.

League of Angels will feature: A new battle system, that let’s you manage your party as well as a guardian angel which will buff the group and launch special ranged attacks, many dungeons including single player, cross server, arena, co-op and rogue-like dungeons, mini games and more!

Last Chaos

Last Chaos is one of the first games Aeria Games ever published. The game was originally released back in 2006 and is set in a  fantasy environment. According to the lore, the land that the players inhabit was created by two gods, Apollon and Eres, the gods of light and darkness, respectfully. The two rival gods, Apollon and Eres, clash with each other and a tremendous war breaks out. Eres creates an ?evil? race (which is playable in the game as the Titan class) but then retreats after a failed attempt to control the world. But of course, he?s sworn to return.

While the class options available in Last Chaos aren?t anything new, the game has an excellent variety of skills. The game has a decent variety of classes, but the entire character creation process is very limited.  You have the opportunity to choose between six playable classes: Titan, Knight, Sorcerer, Mage, Rogue, Healer.  However the classes are gender locked and there is very little customization that can help distinguish your character from the next.

 

Knights of the Sky

Knights of the Sky is a new free online real time strategy game.  Developed by Atlus Online this new flash game is designed to play comfortably within your web browser! In this online RTS, you step into the role of a Lord and immerse yourself in the Continent of Odyssya.

You start this no-download RTS from the perspective of the Empire or Federation. Whether you’re an “Imp” or a “Fed,” your goal is to expand your “Sky Castle,” then bring victory to your nation. Like other flash games, a quick “Tutorial” will teach the basic mechanics as the story progresses. Upon establishing your Sky Castle you will then be involved with territory development, resource collections, and tactfully selected “Level Ups.” To succeed at this no-download RTS, you must take advantage of all these features. As your Sky Castle grows you must then increase your military, including the Lord, Heroes, and soldiers in order to explore Odyssey for treasure!

Playing Knights of the Sky is simple! It only requires mouse clicks and numerical inputs. This MMORTS isn’t designed to challenge your reflexes or sense of rhythm? Just your sense of strategy!

Knight’s Fable

Knight’s Fable is a browser MMORPG that features much of the content that fans of the genre love including an expansive loot system, opportunities for rare and epic gear, gems and heroes, an array of trainable beasts of the ever popular PvP arena.  “We’re confident that Knight’s Fable will be a success.” Said Frances Sun, Product Manager for Knight’s Fable. “Players can train heroes and beasts, and then use them together in battle alongside their main character. Many MMORPG’s only offer the opportunity to level up a single character. ”

In the game you will be able to raid dungeons and pillage the land in search of loot while you recover ancient gear to piece together equipment sets with some crazy bonuses.  You’ll also be able to insert rare gems into your gear for added stat upgrades.  Additionally, the game gives you the ability to capture and train wild beasts to fight alongside you.  The beasts all have their own unique skills, auras and stats, and you’ll be able to use them to your advantage in battle.  To help boost your chance of success, you can visit taverns around the realm to recruit different heroes that also posses their own skills, stats and special abilities.  The ability to create your own battle party is one of the best features of Knight’s Fable.

Knight’s Fable features a fairly passive approach to gameplay and questing. Fighting and traveling to different map locations are handled outside of player control, which is ideal for gamers looking for an exciting story but don’t have the time to invest fully or engage their full attention. Outside of navigating menus and clicking NPCs/locations, there is little that the player needs to worry about. Some hardcore gamers may see this as a turn off, but even the most experienced of players can find an enjoyable, casual experience if they take the time to explore some of the game’s more advanced mechanics.

Much of Knight’s Fable’s depth comes from leveling up your main character, those in your party and your beast. All of your leveling, purchasing and upgrading contributes to an overall BR rating which determines your total strength. Players will need to quest, dungeon crawl and pay special care to get their BR as high as possible. It’s a system that is straightforward in design but contains enough contributing factors and complexities to give advantage to anyone willing to dig deeper. (For more information on this, check out our Knight’s Fable Walkthrough – Leveling and PvP Guide!)

The hand-painted art style and sprites look good and suit the gameplay well. While the visuals are nothing ground breaking, they are ideal for the browser game as locations and battles load quickly. Enemies, beasts and NPCs are varied and well designed. Overall, GTArcade’s solid art direction presents an experience that is varied and cohesive.

Important to mention in a Knight’s Fable review is monetization. The game is free-to-play and does a good job of incorporating microtransactions without hindering the player or affecting the experience negatively. Many character upgrades of the game will enter a cooldown period after prolonged use and while you can purchase in-game gold to bypass this, it is by no means a requirement. None of the cooldowns felt excessive or unfair making the gold option a welcomed choice, never an obligation.

Kingdoms at War

Kingdoms at War is a free to play strategy browser game by A Thinking Ape.  With thousands of players playing the game at any one time, it is the pure definition of an MMORPG.  The goal of Kingdoms at War is to expand your ingdom, build up your armies, and ally with neighboring kingdoms, all to become the most powerful kingdom in the realm!

The gameplay is pretty straightforward: Do quests, get gold, expand military might by building structures in your kingdom, rinse and repeat. When you first start the game, you have very little in the way of attack or defensive capabilities. To improve upon this you need gold, lots and lots of gold. There are quite a few ways for you to achieve that. Some of the different things you can do are: quests, fighting other players, competing in wars, or doing epic battles.

Once you have obtained your gold you can upgrade your kingdom by buying more land and placing various buildings on said land. The buildings come in different tiers based on how many stats they would give you, and to unlock the higher tier buildings you need to have more lands explored.  Different buildings can give you different bonues to your offensive and defensive stats.

 

Kingdom Rift

Kingdom Rift, the latest game set to be released by global publisher Reality Squared Games, will be opening it’s Alpha test server a few days from now.

In Kingdom Rift, Players assume the role of one of three distinct classes, Warrior, Hunter, or Warlock. As they traverse the expansive world, players will be faced with a dark storyline, and battle alongside Goddesses, as well as other adventurers. Combat is real-time and action oriented, with a focus on player skill and positioning.

Kingdom Online is an upcoming free-to-play medieval fantasy MMORPG developed by NTT Games for PC. The game features core MMORPG gameplay with a mix of strategy; players can manage territories by upgrading forts, recruiting mercenaries to conquer resource areas on the world map. Kingdom Online is a community driven MMORPG set in the world of Volcan, a medieval realm where players are compelled to create alliances with other players online in order to rise to power.

Beta testing for Kingdom Online: A Blood Pledge began on Tuesday, November 25th for registered NTTGame users. This initial testing period closed on December 8th, however there will be other opportunities for players to get into the game and check out this new MMORPG.

Kingdom Online will feature four classes from the get-go which include:
Warrior / Arakan – Used by those who prefer close-ranged combat, Arakans are strong and brutal warriors wielding one-handed or two-handed swords and shields.
Rogue / Silvakul – Nimble in melee combat, Silvakul people are agile warriors capable of inflicting damage with their daggers and bow.
Wizard / Plubia – Plubians are weak in close combat, but are capable of dealing devastating magical damage once they get some distance from their opponents.
Cleric / Mesena – Mesena people are natural healers with a set of combat skills to defend themselves.

Additional Kingdom Online Features:
Dominate the “War Map” – Players can engage in strategic battles to occupy forts owned by rival players online.
Manage your personal territory – Players can upgrade buildings in an occupied fort to enhance its fortification, raise an army composed of minions, cavalry and siege weapons. Players can expand their territories by waging wars in team or solo battles.
PVP Zones – Aside from the massive battles, players can choose to join a faction and participate in 1v1 duels.
In-depth skills enhancement – Collect over 300 upgradable “Ere stones” to enhance your attacks. Collecting 5 “Ere stones” of the same class grants the user an ultimate skill.

King of Wushu

King of Wushu is a newly announced third person MOBA game from Snail Games. Snail Games is one of China’s biggest developers and King of Wushu will mark their first foray into the MOBA genre. The game be built using the CryEngine 3, will feature 5v5 matches with a traditional formula of defending your base while destroying the enemy teams base. King of Wushu will utilize the third person view and be heavy on combat, much like Snail’s Age of Wushu.

Snail Games has said that King of Wushu will be coming for PC as well as Xbox One, but no timetable has been set at the time of this writing.

King of Kings 3 if a free-to-play 3D online role-playing game.  This MMORPG puts an emphasis on PvP and RvR (realm vs. realm).  It is set in a medieval fantasy world, which has been split into seven unstable enemy realms after many long years of bitter war.  Your mission is to join one of these realms and create your own destiny.  Found a guild with your friends and wage war against other guilds, conquer enemy armies and create a kingdom of your own with your legions by your side.

King of Kings offers many dynamic game-play options.  As a young lone warrior you have the opportunity to band together with others to form alliances to help you along your journey.  Daily challenges help you thrive and prosper.  As your guild grows you have more opportunities to gain more advantages and amenities.  Housing and town building is another feature of the game.  Designing your own home and building it up from a simple log house to a sprawling villa, or building a fortress for your legion and a capital city for your kingdom not only is decorative but functional.  Your houses and towns can be improved to offer higher bonuses later in game.

PvP is exciting with conquerable town, duels, spontaneous skirmishes or regularly held events and battlegrounds.  If you?re a PvP fan, then King of Kings 3 has everything you will need.  Look for your name at the top of the rankings list as you collect titles that bring you fame and glory.
