SMITE
players! Our favorite two-faced arsonist has gotten a complete makeover this
week. That’s right, he’s is our guy Agni, the god of fire, and his
changes include brand
new models, animations, 2D Art and FX for a selection of his more popular
skins. There
have also been some changes made to the recovery time of his more powerful
abilities to allow players with higher ping to still execute his more difficult
combos. Along with this current tradition of weeklyWednesday updates
for SMITE, an experimental kind of item tree has been added. A new selection of
items will allow players to take multiple items from the same tree but not the
same tier. This means huge changes for the likes of Qin’s Blades and the
Executioner, in essence giving players stats from multiple items but in a
single slot. There is a link to the rest of the patch notes in our mmoatk.com article.
Alright, so
for this next story I’ll try to set my undying cynicism to the side because
it’s actually some pretty awesome stuff. The developers at Runescape today
announced yet another charity event that will see the Runescape community
coming together for their inaugural GameBlast. This news follows recent charity
events that have seen the Runescape community taking advantage of the recently
released Runescape Bonds system, allowing
players to trade real cash for in-game currency without the risk of third-party
vendors. This latest charity event will once again allow players to donate
their in-game earnings with Jagex, promising to convert these donations into
real-world cash to do some real-life nice stuff. There
will be a double experience points weekend, exciting events, and dozens of
livestreams, all in the aid for charity. High five.
Square Enix
announced today that current players of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn are
now able to download the free PS4 open beta client ahead of this week’s test.
The beta testing event goes underway this Saturday, February 22nd, and
is expected to run for the entire week. Characters created during the beta
event cannot level past 20, and character information will be wiped when it’s
all done and through. It’s currently unclear whether or not PlayStation 3
players will be able to transfer their characters over to the PlayStation 4
version prior to official release, but don’t get your hopes up. PS3 fans are
stoked of the additional power available to the PS4, making the experience of
sometimes fighting invisible foes and ducking invisible blows to your
vulnerable character’s sweet face hopefully go away. PS3 players, upgrade to
the PS4 version free of charge.
